The gates of the Blue Moon Sect loomed large before Lin Yu, their grandeur a testament to the sect’s prestigious status. As he stepped through them, he felt a mix of awe and nervousness.
The sect was an expansive compound nestled within lush mountains, filled with elegant pavilions, serene gardens, and training grounds bustling with activity.
Lin Yu's master,(he got one) Elder Ming, escorted him to the main hall for registration. The elder’s presence seemed to command respect, and Lin Yu noticed the reverent bows from disciples and other elders alike.
Despite Elder Ming’s stern exterior, his eyes softened when he looked at Lin Yu, a sign of the bond they had started to form.
“Remember, Lin Yu, the sect is a place of learning and growth. Respect your peers and teachers, and always strive to improve,” Elder Ming advised before taking his leave.Lin Yu nodded, taking in the elder's words.
As he made his way to the registration desk, he felt the weight of curious and judgmental eyes upon him.
It wasn’t often that a disciple was personally brought in by an elder, and whispers about Lin Yu’s origins and potential had already started to spread.
After registration, Lin Yu was given his uniform and a simple map of the sect grounds. He was assigned to a small room in the outer disciples’ quarters, a modest space with just a bed, a desk, and a meditation mat.
It was a far cry from the modern comforts of his life in Beijing, but he found a strange comfort in its simplicity. The next day, Lin Yu woke early to the sound of the morning bell.
As he made his way to the central training grounds, he marveled at the beauty of the sect’s architecture, the intricate carvings, and the peaceful ambiance.
The training grounds were already filled with disciples practicing their forms, some moving with the fluid grace of seasoned martial artists, others with the clumsy determination of novices.
“New here, aren’t you?” a cheerful voice called out.Lin Yu turned to see a young woman with bright eyes and a friendly smile.
“I’m Mei Lan,” she introduced herself. “Let me show you around. It can be a bit overwhelming at first.”Grateful for the company, Lin Yu followed Mei Lan as she explained the layout of the sect.
“This is the main training area where most of us practice our basic forms and sparring. The library is over there, but access is limited based on your rank. And those pavilions are where the inner disciples live and train. It’s a different world over there.”As they walked, Mei Lan shared more about the sect’s daily routines and the hierarchy among the disciples.
Lin Yu listened attentively, absorbing as much information as he could. Despite his initial nervousness, Mei Lan’s warmth and openness made him feel more at ease.During their tour, Lin Yu noticed a tall, handsome figure observing the training sessions from a distance.
He had a stoic expression, his sharp features framed by long, dark hair tied neatly at the back. Mei Lan noticed Lin Yu’s gaze and smiled knowingly.
“That’s Xu Wei, one of the top disciples here. He’s known for his incredible skills and... well, let’s just say he’s quite popular among the disciples,” she said with a wink.Lin Yu felt a strange pull towards Xu Wei, an inexplicable connection that seemed to transcend their brief glance.
Shaking off the thought, he continued his tour with Mei Lan, making mental notes of the important locations.Later in the afternoon, Lin Yu attended his first official training session.
The training grounds were filled with disciples of all levels, each divided into groups based on their skills. Lin Yu was placed with the beginners, and the instructor, a stern-faced senior disciple, began the session with basic Qi manipulation exercises.
The exercises were challenging, and Lin Yu struggled to keep up. His movements were clumsy, his control over Qi weak and inconsistent. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of frustration and inadequacy. As the session ended, the instructor approached him.
“You’re Lin Yu, right? Elder Ming’s disciple?” the instructor asked, his tone less harsh but still authoritative.
“Yes, Senior,” Lin Yu replied, bowing respectfully. The instructor nodded. “You have potential, but you need to work harder. Qi manipulation is the foundation of all our techniques. Focus on your breathing and meditation. Consistency is key.”Lin Yu thanked the instructor and made his way back to his quarters, feeling a mix of exhaustion and determination.
As he sat on his bed, he reflected on the day’s events. The Blue Moon Sect was a world unlike any he had known, filled with opportunities and challenges.
That evening, as he practiced his meditation, he couldn’t shake off the memory of Xu Wei’s piercing gaze. There was something about the senior disciple that intrigued him, a mystery he felt compelled to uncover.
