The sun had barely risen over the horizon when Lin Yu made his way to the main training grounds of the Blue Moon Sect.
His heart raced with a mix of excitement and anxiety as he joined the other disciples.
The grounds were abuzz with activity; disciples of various ranks practiced their forms, sparred with one another, and engaged in deep meditation.
Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. Today would be his first official training session, and he was determined to make a good impression.
As he approached the designated area for beginner disciples, he noticed Mei Lan waving at him.“Lin Yu, over here!” she called out cheerfully. He smiled and hurried over to join her.
Mei Lan's friendly demeanor was a welcome comfort amidst the sea of unfamiliar faces.
“Morning, Mei Lan,” he greeted her.“Ready for your first training session?” she asked, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Lin Yu replied with a nervous chuckle
.Their conversation was cut short by the arrival of their instructor, a tall, stern-faced man named Senior Brother Liang.
He carried himself with an air of authority and confidence, his sharp eyes scanning the group of new disciples.
“Good morning, everyone,” Senior Brother Liang began, his voice commanding attention.“I am Senior Brother Liang, and I will be overseeing your training. As beginners, it is crucial that you master the basics of Qi manipulation and martial arts.
Today, we will start with Qi exercises.”The disciples formed a line as instructed, and Senior Brother Liang demonstrated the first exercise, a basic stance for channeling Qi.
Lin Yu watched intently, noting the fluidity and precision of the movements.
“Focus on your breathing,” Senior Brother Liang instructed. “Inhale deeply, gather the Qi in your dantian, and exhale slowly, guiding the Qi through your meridians.Balance and control are key.”Lin Yu mimicked the stance, concentrating on his breathing as he tried to sense the flow of Qi within his body.
At first, it felt elusive, slipping away like water through his fingers. Frustration began to creep in, but he reminded himself to stay patient
.As the session progressed, Senior Brother Liang moved among the disciples, offering corrections and advice. When he reached Lin Yu, he paused, observing his stance.
“You’re too tense,” Senior Brother Liang said, his tone critical but not unkind.
“Relax your shoulders and clear your mind. Qi flows best through a calm and focused mind.”Lin Yu nodded and adjusted his posture, taking a deep breath to steady himself
. He closed his eyes, trying to block out the distractions around him. Slowly, he began to feel a faint warmth in his dantian, a sign that he was starting to gather Qi.
“Better,” Senior Brother Liang said, nodding approvingly. “Keep practicing.”Encouraged by the instructor's words, Lin Yu continued his exercises with renewed determination.
The morning session was grueling, and his muscles ached from the unfamiliar movements, but he refused to give up.
By the time the session ended, Lin Yu was exhausted but felt a sense of accomplishment. As the disciples dispersed, Mei Lan walked over to him, a look of concern on her face.
“How are you holding up?” she asked.“Tired, but I think I’m getting the hang of it,” Lin Yu replied, wiping the sweat from his brow.“You did well for your first day,” Mei Lan said encouragingly.
“It takes time to master Qi manipulation. Just keep practicing, and you’ll get there.”Lin Yu smiled gratefully.
“Thanks, Mei Lan. Your support means a lot.”As they walked back to their quarters, Lin Yu couldn’t help but reflect on the day’s events. Despite the challenges, he felt a growing sense of belonging within the Blue Moon Sect. The training was tough, but it was also an opportunity for growth and self-discovery.
