"Kim when are you going to take me to see my parents?" When Chay asked the question, Kim didn't have an answer, or maybe he didn't want to answer it. For now though, he wants to live in the moment with Chay in his arms.
He didn't want to think about the time when he would have to leave Chay, but he sniffled and spoke, careful not to break his voice "There are a few things I need to take care of before I take you back. This will all take a week so maybe you can see your parents next week."
Kim tried, but his voice betrayed him and broke, and Chay couldn't understand why Kim's voice sounded so emotional. It wasn't like Kim was going to leave him forever. He knows Kim is selfish and stubborn so Kim won't let him go easily. So Chay couldn't understand why Kim seemed to be on the verge of crying and barely controlling it.
Chay then saw the sadness and fear in Kim's eyes when he met his gaze. Kim had assured him that everything would be fine, but he could sense that Kim was driving the distance between the two of them.
The change in Kim's personality was confusing as well as frightening to Chay. From Kim's behavior so far, he knew that whenever Kim was calm, it was the calm before the storm, and then the storm only brought him misery.
If Kim's plan is to punish him for trying to kill himself, Chay doesn't think he can handle it. He is already depressed and if Kim really does something like this, it will definitely break the camel's back. While Chay was sitting on the couch as usual, he saw Kim sitting alone on the lawn talking to someone on the phone, and Chay guessed that he might be talking to his family. Kim then talks to their friends about what Chay doesn't know.
All he knew was that as the days went by and the week came to an end, Kim looked more and more miserable. Chay's feelings of guilt had disappeared since he learns truth of his parents were alive, and the nightmares he was having had also stopped.
He also finds it strange that Kim doesn't sleep at night because one night he wakes up to find Kim sitting on the swing on the balcony where he himself sits during the day. Kim knew there was a lot of risk in what he was about to do, but he had a responsibility to make sure no one's name was damaged.
~*~
A week passed in the blink of an eye. Both Kim and Chay find them outside Chay's parents' house. No matter how hard Kim tried, he couldn't raise his hand to ring the doorbell. Chay who was standing next to Kim happy that Kim had actually brought him to meet his parents started to worry seeing a very scared Kim whose hands were shaking.
Considering Kim's background, he didn't understand why Kim was afraid of the consequences if he could do anything. But oblivious to the turmoil going on inside Kim, Chay pressed the button on the doorbell and soon someone he knew well opened the door. "C-Chay.." "Mom" Chay hugged his shocked mother.
Chay's parents were overjoyed to see him alive but the hard part came when they asked what happened. Kim watched quietly as Chay received his parents in tears of joy and hugged them together but when the question arose of what happened, he got down on his knees in front of them.
