Sokovia was flying. You and your mum hadn't managed to get away before it had gone too far up. Your mum was trying desperately to calm you down, but you were terrified. Your mum held you tightly in her arms, reciting a Sokovian lullaby as you sobbed into her chest.

"Mama I'm scared!" you cried, looking around with wide, terrified eyes as you saw a large man dressed in a fancy costume with a large hammer smash three of the robots.

"I know baby, but things will be okay," your mum replied, gripping you tighter as she felt the city get higher up.

"I wanna go home," you sobbed. "I wanna wake up and realise it was all just a bad dream."

"Baby we can't go home," your mum broke the news, beginning to cry herself as she covered you from yet more dust.

You didn't know what was happening. It was going too fast. There were so many loud noises, flashing lights and the ground was shaking as it rose.

"Mama will we die?" you asked as she ran down a back alley.

"No baby, we won't die, I'll keep you safe, I promise," she replied, but inside she wasn't so sure.

Your mum found a place to shelter - it was in between two large buildings. The robots wouldn't get you there. Another string of loud noises made you cry, and you buried your head in your mother's chest again. She put her hand over your ear and you listened to her heartbeat whilst she murmured comforting words to you.

How long until this was over? Not long, surely.

The Avengers were out there.

They'd save you and your mum.

Surely.

Surely...?

A loud crash made you scream in terror as you looked up. One of the robots had blown up one of the buildings surrounding you both, and it was beginning to crumble. Gripping you tightly, your mum made to run. You gripped onto her shirt, crying, panicking, wishing you could just wake up and realise you were just having a bad dream. Have your mum come to comfort you, have her-

A blast threw you both back, and you landed on your side at the other end of the alley from your mother. Your head hurt like crazy. Looking up, you could see that you'd been separated.

"Mama!" you cried, but she was sprawled across the ground, unmoving.

"No, mama!" you screamed as the building fell.

You managed to squirm out of the rubble and stumble over to her. You crawled into her arms, tears streaming down your face as you pulled her arm around you. Looking up at her face, you saw that her dirt-streaked face was at peace, as if she was asleep.

That was the last time you ever saw her.

Clint's POV

Hearing a high pitched, petrified scream from an alley, Clint immediately ran over, joining Thor who had also heard the screams.

"There's somebody stuck under there," the god announced, looking at the crumbled building, now a heap in the alleyway.

"We need to check if they're alive, can you move some of this rubble?" Clint asked.

Thor nodded and ran forward, throwing rubble aside with ease, searching for any sign of life. Clint was right behind him, doing what he could to help. His heart was beating in his mouth. What if somebody was trapped under the rubble? What if they were dead? What if there was more than one person? What if-
