"I need you," I tell softly, holding my hand out to him.
My hand remains cold and empty in the chill winter air around us.
"When we you let me be with you again?"
I ask this of him every day but he never responds.
"Do you even feel anything for me anymore?"
The only answer is the wind blowing through the trees.
"I'm not sure how much more of this I can take."
No hand reaches out to brush away my tears.
"I feel so lonely..."
No arms come around me to provide comfort.
"Please, come back to me."

"I feel like I'm dieing inside."
I set down the flowers and close my eyes.
"I miss you..."
I reach out, tracing my fingers over his name carved into the cold stone marker.
