COMPLETING EACH OTHER

CHAPTER 32

ADHWETA SINGH'S POV:

"Why is a beautiful lady like you standing alone in a party rather than enjoying some company ?"

"Because she is too busy enjoying her own company."

"Ahm....would you like to dance with me? Trust me you'd look very good in my arms"

"No, thanks. I don't know about me but you surely won't look good with less than ten toes"

And then they say that I am too sarcastic some people don't get it till you spell it out for them !

"He must be quite special."

After turning down yet another dance offer I turned towards the man who had just spoken and was also my companion for today's evening and as a matter of fact had been for the past many evenings, Mr. Noman.

"Are you talking about these ego inflated and brain deflated idiots who are coming at me like a murder of crows with their same black tuxes and shitting on my patience like anything ?"

"No I am talking about the one for whom you've been meeting me repeatedly, forcing yourself into getting dolled up and attending parties and dealing with men who are constantly buzzing around you like flies while you'd rather be in your pajamas attending to your work and that someone special."

"I must commend your ability to comprehend after knowing the plan and working on it with me for the past two weeks. You have finally realised that it is for someone important."

"After getting a call from the king of Jaipur I knew enough to realise that the person is important what I am trying to say is that, he must be somebody special to you because you don't seem to be money hungry or power hungry and appear to be too dedicated towards them for them to be just being your clients."

A smile made its way to my lips as I thought about the said special man. My man. It's been three weeks since we are officially together and yet my heart starts to beat fast and giddiness takes over me just by thinking of him.

"He is."

"I can deduce that much from your crazy smile and rosy cheeks."

"Then why are you asking such questions if you know the answer?"

"I was just confirming my theories."

Shrugging his shoulder he gave me a saucy smile.

"What theories?"

"You don't fawn over me, nor you try to get my attention other than when it is required for work. I mean considering that it's 'me', it is quite a phenomenon. So I guess it is because of either of the following reasons

a) You are blind. I mean I look at people once and it is them who turn around for double takes. But you look at me only when you want to make sure that I understood your point.

b) You swing the other way considering the way you try to burn those men with your laser eyes who approach you for anything other than work.

c) You are already committed to someone else.

And it appears that the last option is the correct one. Too bad for you, you're missing out on me."

"Why is it that a man's ego grows more than his brain ? ."

"Besides being a lawyer you could have been a rooster since you roast people so well. Haaa...haaa..."

"Yet another sign of maturity." I muttered beneath my breath as I watched him rumbling with laughter.
