Chapter 8: Reporting

Addies POV

I kept looking at my phone and the time.
📱 to Kaji:
         Are you okay? I haven't heard back in a while.. you have me worried 😞

I sent that almost two hours ago..

"Addie sit back and relax!"
My brother says as we sit at the bbq restaurant with Higaragi. He was just laughing it up with the older drunk guys around the way.
"What's going on?"
"I think she's worried about Kaji.."
Higaragi said with a slick smile.

"Oooo yeah! I almost forgot!"
"I didn't say anything!"
"You didn't have to."
I looked at him with an irritated face.
"We can take this outside Higaragi."
"Nah I'm good I don't feel like getting a stomach ache."
"Tsk."
I said looking away.

"Addie.. it's okay to care about others you know.. especially if it's Kaji of all people. You two have history.."

"I TRIED TELLING HER THAT!"
My brother yelled
"Ohh?" The older guys asked in curiosity.
My brother started a story.

"You see there once was a young boy who saw a beautiful little girl, she used to get picked on and bullied by others. But this boy stood up for her so much that he became something he didn't want to be but this little girl had so much feelings for this little boy that she searched high and lot to help him become a better person, one that he would love and be happy with. When she finally found the solution, he was indeed loved and happy. As time when on their friendship grew, but then one day they grew apart.. and the girl had a busy life and didn't really talk to the boy.. and the boy didn't want to bother that beautiful girl because he didn't want to be the reason she failed, he didn't want to be a burden to her.. but what she doesn't know is that little boy that grew up into a young man had asked about her each and every day and still secretly protected her every day.."

My eyes went wide at the ending to his story.... I -..

"Aweee!"
"Ahhh young love!"
"I hope she realizes and sees him for who he is.."
"I hope he asks her out!"

"Ahhh well you see the girl doesn't know her feelings anymore, she doesn't even know if she likes him more than a friend, and the boy well.. he's never said anything about his feelings.."

"What a shame, it sounds like it could be something special."
"Yeah... maybe."
My brother said while looking up at me and then looking away to talk to the olde men about something else.

"Addie, one day you will be able to see if you do like Kaji more than a friend. We all know you care for him and that's okay to not know your feelings. You have been through a lot over the years. You're just like a beautiful newly planted cherry blossom tree.. you are going to need time to grow and blossom into something wonderful..when that time comes I can not wait to hear your true calling, your voice and your feelings."
My eyes go wide and then I look away.

"What if.. whoever I like ends up not having the same feelings..?"

His eyes go wide
"If they are stupid enough to not love you and see you for who you are, then they are not the one for you."

I look up at him and smile some.
"Thank you..Higaragi."

"Of course."

A little bit longer goes by, and the door opens with everyone coming in. My eyes go wide as I see everyone beat up and bruised. I see Suo, Nirei and Sakura. Nirei was badly injured... what happened..?
Then I look over at Kaji, he was also bloody and bruised up...

"Hey you guys! Come on in!!"
My brother says as he smiles back towards them. They walk in and stop standing there looking around.
"Come sit and eat! Let's talk!"
