𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎 the school, with one thing on her mind. She had to find Scott Reed. He had always looked out for her, always wanted the best for her, and always wanted to protect her. She knew that if anyone was going to cross Monty and defend her and all of her friends against his actions, it would be him.

Nessa flew through the hallways, making a beeline to the athletics wing of Liberty High School. She stood outside of the boys locker room, patiently waiting for Scott. She had texted him just ten minutes ago, telling to meet her outside the locker room, and that it was urgent. She hoped and prayed that he would be on their side.

"Scott!" she whispered when he exited the locker room. He looked around, confused until he met her gaze.

"Ness." Scott said, walking over to her. "What's going on?"

"Not here." Nessa ordered. "Come on."

Scott nodded, following Nessa to a darker corner of the hallway where nobody would hear them, or even find them.

"I need you to listen to me, Scott." Nessa said breathlessly. "And I need you to be on my side. You are my only hope."

"Okay, I'm listening." Scott told the girl.

"Montgomery has been messing with us." Nessa revealed. She pulled out her phone and swiped through the pictures of all of the things that Monty had done to the group in the last few weeks.

"This was hanging outside my window the night the trial started." Nessa said, showing Scott the picture of the doll. His face fell, and then curled up in anger.

"This note was in both me and Jessica's lockers, and this shooting target was mailed to Alex." Nessa continued scrolling, and one by one, she showed Scott everything that Montgomery had been doing to torture them.

"And this gun." Nessa paused, her voice cracking. "Was given to Alex, with a note that encouraged him to try again."

Scott sighed, running his hands through his sandy blonde hair as he balled up his hands, punching the brick wall next to him.

"Fuck this shit." Scott said, shaking his hand out. "I swear, I had no idea, Ness. I never would have let him do this, not to you."

"I know, Scott. I believe you." Nessa said.

"So what do I have to do to end this?" Scott asked, determination in his face as Nessa smiled up at him.

"I'm so glad you asked." she told him. "Come on."

Scott nodded, following behind her until they got to Zach's car. Scott piled in, and the group began filling him in on everything. By the end of it, Scott vowed to never speak to Bryce or Montgomery again, after today. He realized it was something he should have done a long time ago.

The car finally stopped at their destination, a stone brick wall park full of graffiti on the outskirts of Liberty. Scott got out first, grabbing the beer that he brought for Monty.
