𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐒𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐓 Monet's with Clay and Justin across from her and Jessica by her side. The two polaroids of Chloe from the box that they had gone through last night were on the table, and Nessa was staring into the grains of the wooden table to avoid looking at them.

After Alex had come over to Clay's last night, it had been a bit of a trainwreck. Alex sat with Nessa, comforting her while Clay and Justin had a conversation about how to get Chloe on their side. As soon as Nessa could stand up without her legs trembling beneath her, Clay took her to Alex's to stay there for the night. It was one of the nights where both of his parents were working an overnight shift, which allowed them both to sleep peacefully in his room without any lurking eyes.

This morning, she had asked Jessica to meet her and the boys at Monet's. She was up front with her, she couldn't not be.

"There's something you need to see." Nessa had told her over the phone, a sense of urgency in her voice. "It's ugly, but it's important. It's about Chloe."

So, Jessica had run to Monet's almost instantly, and sat down at the table. She was now looking down at the pictures, avoiding looking at them for too long, just like Nessa.

"If she doesn't know this happened to her, she's going to be destroyed." Jess told the boys, talking about Chloe. "And when she does, I'm not going to be the one to tell her that the whole world needs to know too."

Nessa sighed. "Jess is right. We were pissed when any of you tried to tell us to tell the world what happened to us, it wouldn't be right to do the same thing to Chloe."

"Exactly." Jessica said, offering Nessa a soft smile. "They're going to have to take Bryce down without her."

Jessica shoved the pictures back to Clay and Justin, and Nessa perked up again. The pictures were pressing her down into her chair, staring at her.

"He's just going to lie." Clay tried to argue with Jessica.

"Maybe." she replied. "But you go up there, thinking you'll know what to say, and then it ends up going another way completely, you know?"

Nessa nodded. "Jess is right. I sure as hell thought I could get up there and say exactly what I rehearsed, but I froze."

"I know." Clay said through a scoff. "Which is how I know we can't count on them to get Bryce."

Jessica sat back in her chair, knowing the boy was right.

"If we don't stop this, there will be more Chloe's. And Bryces." Clay stopped, pulling out a picture and sliding it toward Jessica.

"And Nina's."

Jessica's face hardened as she looked down, grabbing the picture.

"Oh, my God." she said.

"This is proof, Jessica." Clay said to her. "Proof of who Bryce is, who they all are. Proof that you and Nessa aren't alone."

"And that makes it easier for us?" Jessica spat. "Like we're some sort of fucking club? Jesus, you guys."
