“Where’s my key!?” I heard bhai yell, walking out of his room. He opened and shut the drawers in the hall, searching for his car keys.
His next stop was the sofa cushions, also the place where I was sat. He lifts the left side of the cushion then the center and then the right side, tilting my whole body in the process.
“What are you doing?!” I hissed.
“You’re in my way. Move over there.” He said.
“Ugh!” I groaned, shifting to the floor. “Can’t even sit and watch TV in peace.”
“What’s up with you? You’ve been acting strange since yesterday. Something happened?” He asked mindlessly, still busy searching for his keys.
I huffed. “Why would I be acting strange?” I busied myself, browsing through different channels.
I’m not acting like anything. In fact, I’m perfectly normal. I don't care it’s been two days since Shrey’s betrayal and I still haven’t received his apology. Is he still not accepting that he’s wrong?
He did rectify the results, I’ll give him that. Although I wasn’t expecting him to do that, I’m glad he did. But he’s still a big egoistic ass. How dare he not apologize to me?! Is it that hard for him to just say a ‘sorry’ word.
It's been two days and I haven’t heard from him. Not even an apology. I don’t know what’s worse; Shrey is not apologizing or me constantly thinking why he’s not apologizing.
Did he forget what he did after rectifying? He must’ve.
I
huffed again.
“You sure you want to stay home? You can still join us.” Bhabhi said, standing near the television dressed in a beautiful dark blue saree.
I shook my head. “You guys will only make me babysit Aayush and nothing else. I can do that here.”
“C’mon it’ll be fun. You’ll get some fresh air.” Bhai insisted. “God, where are my keys?!” He muttered.
We heard a soft clinking sound and turned our heads to the floor. Aayush sat there on the carpet, playing with his father’s keys.
Bhai rushed to him, “Ah! Not now buddy. You have to wait till you’re legal.” He took the keys from him and pressed a kiss on his hair.
“Shivani, —” Bhabhi called. “I’ve given him medicines, just feed him something after some time, okay?”
“Don’t worry about him. You two enjoy the ceremony. When will you guys return?” I asked.
“I don’t know.” She shrugged. “It depends when your brother decides to leave.”
“Okay. I’ll cook something.”
“Something healthy.”
“Eh—” She narrowed her eyes at me and I chuckled. “Okay okay, we’ll eat healthy.”
Ten minutes later, as I shut the door, Aayush jumped on the couch, grabbing the remote and switching the channel to Hungama. He loves Shinchan. Bhai and I didn’t let him watch shows like Cocomelon and all.
Ew, what the hell is this Cocomelon shit anyway.
“Ay no! I was watching that show.” I moved to take the remote back from him but he rolled over on his stomach, the remote hidden beneath him.
