I jolted awake as the loud whistle from the kitchen rang in my ear. I twisted around on the bed, lazily stretching my arms over my head and loosening the knots in my muscles, completely oblivious to the body stirring beside me. Not until I felt a heavy arm around my waist, pulling me back towards a hard chest.
Blinking, I turned my head to the side, my eyes bulged out the moment I spot Shrey lying beside me. Stifling the scream threatening to escape, I removed his arm from my waist and stepped out of the bed, looking at it in horror.
Bedsheets untucked, blanket in a mess, pillows sprawled, from which two of them where tossed down on the floor, with a human-sized horse on my bed. I checked the time on the wall—8:15 am.
Rushing over to him, I gave his body a shake, then another and then another. "Shrey?" Instead of answering or waking up like a normal human, he turned around and groaned. "Shrey? Get up!" I turned him towards me and grabbed his cheeks, shaking his face.
"Uh, shut up!" I gasped at his stupid audacity to smack my hand away from his face. I let out a laugh in disbelief and instantly regretted it when my morning breath hit my nose. I gagged and made a quick run to the washroom, did my morning business and brushed my teeth.
When I came back, Shrey was still sleeping, completely unaware of the consequences he'd have to face if bhai saw him. Storm of terror was brewing inside me and it'll keep growing as the seconds increase with Shrey in my room.
I yanked the blanket covering his lower half body and tossed it aside. I called out his name, simultaneously picking up the pillows from the floor and throwing them at his face. He didn't even stir. "Shrey, please!" I called out desperately. "Get up. You need to leave before someone sees you."
"What is wrong with you?" He mumbled. Under any different circumstances I would've appreciated his morning voice but now it's just infuriating.
"What is wrong with me?!" I bend down from my waist and tapped his cheek. "How can you take this situation so lightly? Wake up before bhai asks for me." I tapped again and again. When was the last time he slept? Frustration and anger grew as the minutes passed. Bhabhi will come here to check up on me, if she sees him—
I swing my palm back and slapped hard across his cheek. Redness marked his cheek where I strung him and he groaned, his eyes blinking open, fighting the sleep. "The fuck!"
I mentally cursed myself as I rubbed his cheek, guilt seeping through me as I watch the redness darkened. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry Shrey." I repeated, gently rubbing the area.
"What did you do?" His voice, god help me.
"I-I—sorry. I didn't mean to hit hard. You weren't waking up and bhai can come here at any time. What if he demands me to open the door and sees you here. How will you even walk out of the door, if he's outside? Even bhabhi won't be able to save us and,—" He grabbed my palm—the one on his cheek—and turned to the other side, giving me his back.
The action made my body slip and fall over the side of his. My breasts were pressed against his arm and face close to the space between his shoulder and neck. He smelled delicious. What is he? Food?!
"Wake me up once you finish your rambling." He sighed and tightened his hold on my palm when I tried to twist it out of his grasp.
"Shrey!" He hummed and turned around, making our faces just mere inches apart. "Did you even listened to what I said?"
"Yes, I did." He nods.
"Then why aren't you moving?!" I asked. I wonder if he has an ounce of seriousness in him.
