This was through FaceTime, when I opened it up I saw Kita. Based on the background, it appeared she was in some sort of police station. And her eyes looked red, almost as if she was shedding some tears beforehand.

Damn it. Something's definitely wrong.

"Hitori." She said through the call, her voice sounding low and tired. "Me and Ryo are with the police right now. We got an update on who could have poisoned Nijika."

This brought me some hope that maybe she could be avenged.

"Really? Who did it? Do you know where they are?" I asked, my voice sounding sleepy.

Silence filled the call, only small sighs and turns, inaudible words could be heard too. No sound coming through.

"Hello? Did someone say something?" I asked again, becoming nervous for answers.

She turned her screen back to face me, "I have no idea how but, the officers checked all of our houses and belongings, everyone and everything about the situation. And for the results, they say it's you, Hitori Gotoh."

Only shock filled my body now.

Wh-wha...

How?

She kept talking, but her words sounded nothing like a blur to me. But I heard the few words on 'finding dangerous substances in my room and the items I gave her'.

No..! No! She's lying! This has to be a misconception! I never had any substances on me!

I need to talk to these people! I never did any of this! I'm innocent!

I hung up on the call and put my hands on my face, tears starting to form from my eyes, my body shaking.

"I didn't do it.." I sobbed quietly, "I didn't kill her..."

Kita simply didn't bother calling me back, she only texted me saying, 'Come to the police station after school at 3 pm.'

I was still shaking.

The police station!? Are they gonna arrest me!? I can't go to jail! I'm only fifteen!

I didn't do it. Nijika's my friend.

I could barely sleep for the rest of the night, I only got two hours in for me. When I woke up I could barely get up from my mattress, I didn't feel like going back to school either.

I lied on my mattress for a while until I soon realized that my alarm had still not gone off. I myself rolled over to check it to see someone had already turned it off.

After minutes of me lying on the mattress again, I decided to head downstairs to ask about this. I first checked in my mirror, I saw my eyes were puffy and my hair was messy. I must've cried myself to sleep last night.

I slowly trotted downstairs, when I got down there I saw my parents sitting on the couch with disappointed expressions. And an unfamiliar man who appeared to be a police officer was alongside them too.

"Hitori." My mom said, "The police talked to us, they told us they found cocaine in the flowers you gave to your friend Ijichi before she passed." She explained.

I responded in nothing but silence.

My mom continued, "There was also a small zip lock bag of cocaine spotted in your desk. I have no idea how that got there."

No.. I didn't do that! Cocaine is dangerous! I could never!

The officer in the room pulled out the exact bag that was described, "See this? We even spotted you're dna pressing on this too. Including a girl named Ryo Yamada as well."
