PART TWO
Break Up——————————————————————
" y/n's point of view "

AT DINNER THAT night we were talking and laughing when in my peripheral vision I saw Peter standing outside.
I knew if he hadn't come into the restaurant already, then something was definitely up. And that made me worried.
He stole my attention very quickly and I turned to where Gwen and Mom were sitting to talk to them.
"Peter's outside. I'm just gonna go see if he's okay." I told them before I stood up and walked out of the restaurant to talk to my boyfriend.
"Hey, Peter." I quickly walked up to him and frowned upon seeing his face. He looked stressed, upset and tense all in one. "Are you okay?"
"Hey." He replied and looked down at the ground.
"What's wrong?" I asked him, looking him up and down. "What's going on? Are you alright?"
"I don't know what I'm doing." He said, his tone sad, and I understood exactly what it was.
"It's George, isn't it?" I asked and he still wouldn't meet my eyes.
"Yeah." Peter sighed. "I see him everywhere I go. I can't- I don't know what to do. And I can't get him out of my head."
"Yeah, but Pete, we talked about this." I let one of my fingers link with one of his own.
"I know, but, Y/N-"
"It's not his choice."
"Y/N."
"It's nobody's choice but ours."
"Y/N." Peter had tears in his eyes as he spoke. "I promised him that I would keep away from you and Gwen. And now I'm gonna come and eat dinner with your family. How can I do this? What does this make me?"
I didn't say anything for a second. "I don't know, my boyfriend? What else would it make you?"
"It makes me not able to live with myself." Peter stated and took a few steps away from me, unlinking our fingers, and I could've sworn my heart physically snapped into two.
"I thought it would mean you loved me." I was forcing back tears of my own. I wasn't going to let them spill.
"I do love you." He exhaled and kept his back to me. "I love you."
"Then why isn't that enough for you?" I walked over to him.
"Because what if something happens to you just like it happened to him because of me?" I went to say something, but he held out his hand, cutting me off every time I tried to speak. "No. Wait, wait, wait. I cannot let that happen."
"Listen to me." I spoke and he leaned against the wall behind him, looking down at the ground. "You are Spider-Man and I love that. I do. But I love Peter Parker so much more. So, so much more. And that makes it worth it to me."
"I can't lose you too." He said, meeting my eyes.
"If because you can't lose me, we can't be together..." I looked into his eyes and he looked down. "Who is that supposed to work out for Peter? Because it's certainly not me."
"I can't. I'm sorry, Y/N."
I took a deep breath and turned my head away from him.
"I don't know if I can do this anymore." I sighed. "I mean, you do this to me again and again, and it's not fair."
He didn't say anything and just stared at me.
So I forced myself to say the words I never really wanted to say.
"I break up with you, Peter." I told him. "I break up with you."
And then I turned around and walked back into the restaurant, not even giving him a second glance.
I sat back down at our table and Helen turned to look at me.
"Is Peter coming inside?"
"Um, no." I shook my head and tried to blink back my tears. "No, he's not."
I could tell just by the way Gwen was looking at me that she knew what happened.
