PART TWO
Five Months

PETER COULDN'T HEAR the crack from how high up he was. The sound of skull hitting pavement after an extreme fall didn't exactly echo loud enough for Peter to understand exactly what it was, anyway.

All he could tell was that Y/N wasn't falling anymore.

But she wasn't moving, either. She was just dangling from his web near the ground.

So Peter attached the web to the pole he was holding and jumped down to land on the ground beside Y/N, taking off his mask and dropping it on the floor before he approached her.

"Hey. Hey. Y/N?" Peter took her into his arms and cut the web before he lowered the two of them down. "Hey. Hey."

When he sat down on the ground and Y/N still hadn't responded, or even moved for that matter, Peter started to freak out more, the tears appearing in his eyes quickly.

"Y/N? Hey." Nothing. "Breathe. Come on, baby. Hey, Y/N. Please. Please."

Peter carefully held his hand to her cheek and turned her head so it was facing him more.

"Hey. Hey." His voice had started to waver and there was a lump in his throat as his hand moved from her face to the back of her neck. "You're okay, baby. Y/N?"

His lip started to tremble and the tears were starting to stream down his face as he pushed her hair away from her face.

"Stay with me. Stay with me." He told her, his arm around her body growing tighter as he pulled his girl closer to him. "Stay with me. Stay with me. You stay with me."

That was when the blood that was already coating the back of her head started to slowly stream from her nose.

"Y/N..." Peter cried, stroking her head. "Y/N!"

As he started to sob harder, he leaned closer towards her, his head brushing against her forehead just like it had on the bridge just a couple of hours earlier.

"No! Please. Please." His entire body was shaking as he continued sobbing. "Please."

He lowered his head as he cried and hugged the body of his girlfriend tightly. His face pressing against the side of her own as he trembled.

"I can't do this without you, Y/N. Please." He whispered into her ear, but it still did nothing.

She was dead. That was it.

Peter's sobs didn't stop or slow down at all as he started to rock back and forth with Y/N in his arms.

"Please, Y/N, please." The words came out all choked up and he was struggling to breathe. "Please."

He kissed the side of her head and would not let go of her for a single second.

Not even when he let out the most devastated and heartbroken yell of just utter pain.
