Aurora's heart dropped as hearing Drake's voice come up. Her body started to tremble in fear as she let her voice come out shakily.
"Y-You need me?"
"Don't worry. You're not in trouble or anything. We just need you to come in"
"Okay...I am um out with friends. I'll ask them to drop me off there"
"Alright"
As the phone line died, she set her phone down. Luci turns her head towards Aurora and tilts her head a bit.
"Is everything okay?"
"Could you drop me off at the police station..."
"What why?"
"Something came up. It's for the case of Ha-Eun"
"Oh okay!"
Luci turned her vehicle around and drove to the police station. Luci told Aurora that they'd wait for her to get out so they could hang out after she was done. Aurora nodded as she slipped her phone into her bag. As the girls arrived at the station, Aurora got out of the car and opened the door then entered inside. She walked up to the front desk while a lady was typing away.
Aurora clenched her bag before opening her mouth.
"E-excuse me?"
The front desk lady looked up and fixed her glasses before smiling.
"How can I help you?"
"Um...I got a call from Detective Drake who wanted to see me."
"Okay, I'll get him in a second! You can just have a seat right over there"
Aurora nodded as she walked where the lady had pointed at. She sat down and examined the lady. She must've been new from the way the lady seemed to be impressing someone. It made her quite interested in who she was trying to impress but she kept her mouth shut.
Once the lady walked off to Drake's office. Imani was sitting in his chair looking at the old cases related to smiley faces. Drake sipped his coffee as he sat beside his partner. Hearing a knock on the door, Imani looked up telling whoever it was to come in. The lady came in with a smile.
"How can we help you?"
"Detective Drake, there's a lady who wants to speak with you"
"Oh she's here Imani"
"Alright. Tell her to come in"
"Okay, sir!"
The lady left their office. Drake turned his head at him and shook his head in disagreement.
"The doctor told me not to go to work today and yet here you are"
"And I don't care. I need to work."
"You could just work at home"
"No."
Both turn their head to the knock. Aurora took it as a sign to walk in. They looked at her as she looked at them. Imani asked her to sit on the chair. She sat down on the chair at the end. Imani cleared his throat before speaking.
"We are putting you under witness protection"
"W-Why?"
"Well, my partner here had a hiccup with the person who killed your friend and coworker. And your life's on the line and we are here to protect you from danger."
"Does this mean.."
"Yeah, you'll be moving out of your apartment but don't worry. You'll be staying with us"
"Eh us?"
Drake blinked for a couple of seconds. Imani groaned as he punched his partner in the shoulder. Drake rubbed his shoulder before looking at his friend.
"I have rented an apartment where we can share. That means we'll be in charge of watching you and making sure you are okay. It also means you have to tell us where you're at since you are moving to a different area in Milan"
"Oh um..wouldn't it be awkward for the witness to be staying with a police officer?"
"Don't worry. I have written it down that you're a sister on my list so it's all good"
"Oh I suppose..but will I be able to hang out with my friends?"
"Yes but only during the day. They must make sure they're not alone themselves"
"Okay. Should I start packing up then?"
"Yes. Drake would be there to pick you up or maybe your friends can do it. Here is the address. My stuff is already there. You just have to pick a room you would like to have."
"Okay"
"That'll be it. Hopefully, we'll see you there well maybe I will"
"Alright. Thank you, detectives"
"No problem"
Imani handed her the address. Aurora thanked him before leaving the office and then the station. Lucia was having a smoke break as she sat on her hood once again. Aurora walked up to her. Lucia smiles as she looks at her friend.
"Well?"
