In the gentle entwining of fingers, two souls connect, and a love story begins 💗✨

Aakriti's POV

I woke up with a start, my neck aching. Our positions shocked me - my head on his shoulder, his head above mine. I gently placed his head on the headrest and took in our surroundings. We were in a train, and the unfamiliar scenery outside the window made my eyes widen. I checked my phone - 7:25 pm. We were supposed to reach at 6:45 pm!

"Excuse me, how long ago we crossed last station?" I asked the uncle sitting in front of us.

"Yes, almost 30 minutes ago," he replied.

I sighed and gazed at Yash, who was sleeping like a child. My book was on his lap, his phone in his hand. He looked adorable, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Yash," I whispered, trying to rouse him.

When he didn't respond, I called out louder, "Yaaashhh!"

The nearby passengers stared at us, and Yash finally stirred.

"Mummyyyy, please let me sleep for five more minutes," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

"Yash, wake up! We've left our station behind," I said, trying to sound stern but failing miserably.

He took a few minutes to come to his senses, then exclaimed, "What?!" and checked his watch.

"Why did you sleep?" I asked, frustration creeping into my voice.

"You slept first," he replied, his tone matching mine.

"Yeah, because I was tired," I said, making an innocent face.

"Yes yes! Only you can get tired" Yash teased me, making faces.

"Where are we now?" I asked Yash, my voice tinged with worry.

"How would I know? He shrugged.

We bantered back and forth. The uncle and his wife, who were sitting nearby, chuckled at our exchange.

The uncle, sensing our tension, intervened. "Relax, beta! The next station is in 4-5 minutes. You can catch a train back from there."

We thanked him in union, our voices barely above a whisper, and then looked away, our gazes drifting in opposite directions.

"Kids in love these days are so reckless," aunty said, shaking her head.

"Like you never slept in train," uncle replied with a sheepish grin.

Aunty scrunched up her nose, and we all burst out laughing.

Yash hit my shoulder with his, looking at me with puppy eyes and muttered a soft "Sorry".

When I didn't respond, he did that again.

"It wasn't your fault, and I'm sorry too," I said, smiling apologetically.

"It wasn't yours either," He said, smiling back.

"They're so adorable!" Aunty chuckled.

Uncle intrude in, "Not more than us," and earned a playful peck on the cheek from Aunty.

"Adults in love these days are so shameless!" Yash mimicked Aunty.

We all erupted into laughter again. Sometimes, strangers can bring us joy that's hard to find even with those closest to us.

Yash's POV

As we reached that station, I couldn't help but feel a pang of pain in my neck and shoulder. We had slept in that position for an hour!
