The spark of love is a fragile thing, but with care, it can become an unbreakable bond 💕✨

Aakriti's POV

I returned to the party, noticing the crowd had thinned out. Most of the adults had already bid their farewells, and I assumed the celebration was winding down.

But then, Kanika seized the mic and declared, "So now the real party begins!" Someone cranked up the music system, and the infectious beats filled the room, making it impossible to resist the urge to move.

I stood in a corner, engaged in conversation with a junior. But before I could excuse myself, I sensed a presence beside me. Turning, I found Yash standing there, his eyes sparkling.

Before I could respond, he leaned in, his smooth voice whispering, "Kriti, care to join me for a dance?" The way he looked at me made refusal impossible. As the opening beats of "Ye Jawani Teri" filled the room, I couldn't help but smile, and I let him take my hand.

zara si teri khirki khol de
phirki chhor de
ur ur jaane de
zara si mujhe dheel to de
zara feel to de
mujhe khush ho jaane de
aye yaari naari ki khaatir
zaraa paas to aane de

The moment we stepped onto the dance floor, the world around us seemed to blur, the music taking over. Yash wasted no time, immediately breaking into the most ridiculous, over-the-top dance moves I’d ever seen. I burst out laughing, any trace of nervousness melting away as I joined him.

ye jawaani teri
ye jawaani meri
ja- jja- jeene nahi deti ×3

It wasn’t long before I found myself moving in sync with him, matching his playful energy. He pulled me close for a spin, and for a second, I caught a glimpse of his face—eyes twinkling with mischief, a grin that made my heart flutter. Then he released me, and I twirled away, only to be pulled back into his orbit.

gali gali gali ghoomein
aaja penchon ko laraayein
par par parkhachche
aaja kooche ke uraayein

As the song progressed, I glanced across and saw Kanika dragging Samarth onto the dance floor. He had resisted at first, but eventually relented. They began to dance together.

nayi nayi nayi
aaja milke afwaahein uraayein
ghar ghar gharwaalon ki
naakon ko kataayein

Yash shot Samarth a few death glares as he saw them. Samarth caught my eye, his expression pleading for help. I wrapped my arms around Yash's neck, redirecting his attention to me. My breath caught in my throat as he placed his hands on my waist.

thori si dekho teri bhi
thori meri bhi
hone de badnaami
haan bolo wo jawaani kya
jismein na ho thori si ayyaashi

"That was... fun," I managed to say, struggling to keep my voice steady amidst the rush of emotions.

Yash laughed, his expression triumphant. "Just fun? I was hoping for amazing."

I rolled my eyes, unable to suppress a smile. "Alright, maybe it was a little amazing," I conceded, "but I'm tired now." I stepped off the dance floor, trying to appear nonchalant despite the flutter in my chest.

I saw Samarth stepping off dance floor from other side, smiling at Kanika, with her heels in his hands. I glanced around and noticed the empty chairs. Samarth sat down beside me.
