Aakriti's POV

As the last lecture droned on, I gazed out the window, the non-stop rain continued to pour down, casting a gloomy spell over the campus. The sky was a deep, foreboding grey, with clouds that seemed to stretch on forever. The weather was like this only, since morning.

As the lecture finally ended, I booked a cab to the railway station. Getting a cab when it rains is quite difficult, reason one to hate this season!

"Ahh! this season." I exclaimed, shaking my head as I walked out of class.

"But it's so beautiful, isn't it?" Saanvi chimed in.

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "Only you can say this as you're not the one who has to travel two hours in this mess."

We shared a laugh and a quick hug before parting ways.

As I got into the cab, I asked the driver to take me to the railway station. After a while he pulled over, pointing to the gridlocked street ahead. "Mam, this traffic will take at least 15 minutes to clear."

"It's okay! we are just minutes away, I will walk from here." I said stepping out of cab. Traffic gets so bad during rain, reason two to hate this season!

I got out of the cab and started walking. Yash might already be there. I remembered that day When I showed him his sketch, he was so happy and said he'd frame it. We had a great time in the park and then had lunch together. It's been a week since then. The memories of that day are still fresh in my mind. It was a special day that I'll always remember.

Just then, a car suddenly appeared and splashed mud from a puddle onto my pericious white coat. I took off the coat and put it in my bag. You can't even walk peacefully, Reason number 3!
It started to rain again, I quickned my pace.

As I entered the station, I sneezed twice, "Achoo! Achoo!" My top got a bit wet because of rain, and I felt chilly, I folded my arms across my chest. I saw Yash walking towards me, but why he is coming in opposite direction.

"Hey-y achoo" 'Congrats! You've caught a cold...' A voice came from my head. Reason number 4!

Yash approached me, smiling, and said, "Pr mai toh Yash hu, achoo kon?" I gave him a boring look, and he chuckled.

(I'm Yash, not Achoo!)

"Okay, sorry! But can't you girls wear some good clothes according to the season?" He removed his jacket and wrapped it around my shoulders. "Thankyou," I said,

"Why were you coming in the opposite direction? Aren't we supposed to go that way?" I asked, pointing towards our intended platform.

"Our train is running an hour late, so I-," he explained.

"Sach maiii??" I interrupted, surprised.

(Really?!)

"Nhi jooth mai! and be grateful it's only delayed. Many other rail routes are waterlogged, and some trains have even been canceled," he said, shaking his head. And there we had reason number 5!

"Let's go there and have some tea, you will feel better" He suggested, nodding towards a food stall. Before I could protest, he was already walking towards it.

We settled onto a bench, holding our steaming cups of tea. There was a noticeable gap between us, enough for another person to squeeze in. I wondered if I should bridge the distance and move closer to him. As if reading my mind, he also shifted nearer at the same time. Our shoulders touched, sending a thrill through me.
