She was up and dressed before her alarm, excited for her day with Luz, but also apprehensive.
What if they didn't get on?
"It's just dress shopping. It's. Just. Dress. Shopping."

She took a breath and sat down with her book, trying to concentrate but all the while one ear listening out for the phone.

She annoyed herself when it rang by jumping even though she had been listening out for it.
'Phone call - Lin'
Reaching for it she stopped herself quickly.
"Don't be too keen! Relax. Wait a beat...... ok..."
She smiled as she picked it up.
"Hi Lin." She coughed quietly as her voice came out so high pitched she half expected a pack of dogs to come running in.
"Hey! How are you? Sleep ok? My message didn't wake you last night did it?"

"No! Not at all. I was dead to the world." She lied.

"Great! So Mom is going to make her way to yours in a cab for about 12. I've given her your number and told her to call when she's near to give you time to get down the stairs. She's so excited, this is like her dream role!"

Alicia laughed. "I'm looking forward to it. I might even quiz her about what young Lin was like while we are out."

He gasped. "Oh God please don't do that, you might get put off me when you realise what a nerdy, over sensitive kid I was. Come to think of it. I haven't changed that much. Maybe you better not go at all."

"Lin, stop it." She laughed and shook her head. "Pretty sure I'm not going to be put off you."

"Well. I'm glad. Really glad."
He was suddenly stuck for words.

Alicia felt the heavy pause and his discomfort.
"So are you able to tell me what the meetings about today?"

He smiled. "You're very perceptive do you know that."

"It's a superpower of mine."

"I shouldn't tell you what the meeting is but I trust you to not mention it to anyone. It's about possibly making a live action Moana film. Very early stages but I'm hopeful and ridiculously excited."

"Oh my God no way! Lin that's so amazing."

"Say NOTHING."

"You have my word. You know you can trust me."

"I do."
He looked at the clock. "Hell I have to go. The meeting starts in 15.  Call you later? If mom hasn't put you off me of course."

"Good luck with the meeting."

"Good luck with the dress shopping, and surviving all the stories of my very un - misspent youth! Call you later."

She said goodbye and was just about to end the call.

"Lis?"

"Yeah"

"Just for the record. As excited as I am about this meeting. I would much rather be spending the day with you. For the record."

She smiled. "And as much as I'm sure I'll love your mom, I would much rather be spending the day with you too. For the record."

Lin laughed quietly. "Good."
There was silence for a moment.
"Ok I'll call you later."

"Bye Lin"

"Bye Princesa."

She ended the call. And fanned herself with her hands.
"HOOOOOOLY SHIIIIIIIIT! He better not speak Spanish to me too often! That is soooo hot! Whoooooo.... Siri, what time is it?"

'The time is 11.30'

"Crap, no time for another shower to cool off." She laughed at herself.
"Jesus, why do I feel like a teenager. Get a grip!"
