       "What are you thinking about?"

His voice was quiet, barely above a whisper, as his fingers were running up and down her bare spine, his other hand loosely attached to hers, as she played with his fingers contently. She felt his breath against the top of her head, from where she was resting so comfortably on his chest, and his lips curled into a grin when he felt the goosebumps that he had given her, even after they had spent the night together. She could feel his heartbeat from under her ear and she felt as if she was surrounded in warmth, despite the fact that the blankets had been kicked to the foot of the bed, leaving only a thin sheet covering them.

She had expected to wake up feeling regret and guilty over allowing herself to fall claim to temptation, but she hadn't felt that at all. She had woken to the feeling of his fingers brushing over her shoulder and she hadn't hesitated to turn around and cuddle into him, which had surprised her, as Charlie had never considered herself to be the cuddling type. The bedroom was light enough that she could see everything clearly, but the curtains were closed and so only a sliver of sunlight was pouring in, giving her the privacy that she wanted. She knew her sister hadn't come home the night before and had stayed next door with the Harpers and she knew that it was because Lily was still angry with her, so she didn't have to worry about her walking in on her.

"You have nice fingers," she responded after a stretch of silence between them, linking their hands together and feeling his daylight ring against her palm.

Elijah chuckled, tenderly pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You don't regret this...do you?"

She heard the hesitation in his voice, the hint of vulnerability and she shifted, pulling her hand out of his and leaning up on her elbow so she could lock eyes with him. "I don't regret it." She breathed, knowing that her voice had been small but sure, and he heard it as clear as day. She traced her fingers down the side of his face, smiling a little as she did. "I meant what I said when I said I love you."

"You know what this means, don't you? Our bond-"

"I know what it means and I'm okay with it." She told him and his smile widened, leaning forward to kiss her but she pulled back before he could. "You don't wanna kiss me right now."

Elijah raised an eyebrow. "I disagree. I would very much like to kiss you."

"I have morning breath." She tried sitting up but she felt her soulmate's arms wrap tightly around her waist, pulling her back against his bare chest. "Elijah!"

"I'll risk it." He smirked, leaning forward once more.

Charlie hastily placed her palm over his lips before they could brush against his, her eyes twinkling teasingly. "I don't. And trust me, you wouldn't want to either. You'll regret it."

"I doubt it," he tucked some of her messy blonde hair behind her ear, the witch only just hearing what he said, since her hand was still over his mouth. "I love you, Charlie Prince."

Suddenly, just as she was smiling warmly at hearing him say those words, she was no longer lying above her soulmate but was instead pinned beneath him, between him and the mattress. Her arms instinctively went around his neck, running her fingers through his thick dark brown hair, a content sigh passing through her as she felt him lean down and press a deep but simple kiss to her lips. Her eyes fluttered close and she grabbed at his hair, tugging at it as she felt his hand drift down to her hip then to her thigh, lifting it up so her back was practically arching off the bed. Before she could stop herself, a moan passed through her, especially when his lips trailed down her jaw to her throat, nipping at the flesh gently.
