A few hours had passed from when I feel asleep when I feel Jim shift. His arm still protectively extended around me. I open my eyes for a second, forgetting where I was. My head barely lifted off the pillow. I lower my head back down and try to let sleep take me once again.

I fully awake when I hear the sound of thudding and splashing. I feel Jim move into a sitting position, him seeming also curious about the sound. I decide I won't be able to go back to sleep anytime soon. Jim slides out of bed, and I make my consciousness known when I sit up.

"What is that?" I whisper while I scoot off the bed and stand next to Jim.

He shrugs and puts his finger to his pursed lips. I nod, and he takes my hand, leading me down to the main deck quietly. My eyebrows furrow as we look over the side of the ship to see Long John Silver in a longboat with chests filled to the brim with treasure.

"Silver!" Jim exclaims in a whisper-shout.

Mr. Silver look up to us from his boat. Me and Jim both walk over closer to where Mr. Silver is. We make a few seconds of tense eye contact before he starts to speak.

"I suppose you'll be blowing the whistle on me now, won't you, kids?" He calls up to us.

"I suppose I will." Jim says, taking out his whistle from his pocket.

"You have to return to Bristol to stand trial." I add, making Mr. Silver laugh.

"Oh, I'm sorry, kids." He quickly reaches down and pulls out a gun, which is swiftly pointed at both me and Jim. "I got a terrible fear of hanging." He ends.

Jim begins to bring the whistle to his lips, seeming ready to blow at any second.

Mr. Silver's eyes widen, and he stands up taller, his gun still pointed to us. "We're shipmates, aren't we, Jim? Y/n? People of fortune, together."

His lips quiver as he looks at us. Mine and Jim's hands are still interlocked, and I give his hand a small squeeze.

"Give us one more chance." Says Mr. Silver with a plea.

Jim puts the whistle barley into his mouth. And Mr. Silver cocks his gun.

There's a long silence, and we stare at each other.

Mr. Silver brings his gun down to his side. "Oh, hell, kids. I could never harm either of you."

Jim lowers his whistle.

"Jim, you're honest and brave and true. Y/n, you're kind and giving and loyal. You didn't learn that from me." He says.

I feel a tear run down my cheek. Even though Mr. Silver had betrayed us, he had also been my friend.

"I learned it from my friends, Mr. Silver. Now take your oars and row away. We never want to see you again." Jim says with a quiver.

"Ever," I finish. I feel him shake a bit, and so hold his hand a bit tighter.

He does as Jim told him, and takes the oars. He begins to row away. Before seeming to remember something. "Oh, Jim!" He reaches into his pocket, taking out a small objects, and throwing it to Jim.

Jim catches it with both his hands and we look down to see what it was. Jim's compass lays in his hands. I feel Jim begin to cry beside me. I give his hand another tight squeeze.

"'Tis a shame, really. We'd have made a great team, Jim, Y/n." Mr. Silver calls out, before wordlessly disappearing into the fog.

"Well done, kids. Jim, your father would be proud." We both turn to see Captain Smollett, Gonzo and Rizzo. Captain Smollett looks at us proudly.

"Captain Smollett, I have most distressing news." Mr. Arrow says walking up to us. "One of the longboats is missing, and I know for a fact it was terribly unsafe."

We all look out to the foggy ocean, only wondering what this means for Long John Silver.
