Your eyes flutter open to the sterile surroundings of a hospital room. The faint, antiseptic scent of alcohol lingers in the air, a reminder of where you are. Turning your head to the left, you notice the room is empty, leaving you unmonitored for the time being.

You realize that, although there is no acute pain, a dull ache from the earlier incident reminds you of the scar now marking your body. Covered in bandages, the pain is bearable for you, knowing you still have regenerative abilities but dare not to use for them not to raise suspicions on you.

Your eyes gazed at the sunset, its warm hues casting a gentle glow over the city skyline outside the hospital window. You sighed, considering a visit to check on the boys.

Swinging your legs over the side of the bed, you stood up, slipping into the hospital-provided slippers. You stepped out of your room and into the empty hallway, glancing into each unit in search of them.

“Oh, Miss Hibino, you should be in bed!” a nurse called out, her tone scolding. You smiled sheepishly, a drop of sweat forming on your brow.

“Haha, I’m sorry. Don’t worry, I can move just fine,” you said, performing a few exaggerated stretches to reassure her. “See?” But a sharp crack from your spine interrupted your demonstration, and you steadied yourself as a wave of pain washed over you, your eyes twitching from the discomfort.

“See,” the nurse echoed dryly, her expression deadpan as she watched you wince.

"Let's go back to your room. Your companions are fine," the nurse assured, guiding you back to your unit.

Later that night, you lay in bed, thoughts swirling about rejoining the defense force. Now that you knew the age limit had been raised, Kafka had a chance to join the recruitment again.

"Will I get caught if I join the force again?" you muttered to yourself. The what-ifs crowded your mind. Could you suppress your Kaiju side in an emergency? Would saving someone mean sacrificing your humanity?

Suddenly, a wave of danger washed over you. You sensed a Kaiju nearby, but this one felt different, more powerful—a Daikaiju. Your eyes scanned outside the window, but no alerts had been issued.

"I found you."

A voice echoed around you. You whipped your head around, searching for the source, but found nothing in your room.

"Whuuuuuh?!" Familiar voices reached your ears from the other side of the wall. You rushed to the neighboring unit and found Reno backing away from a humanoid Kaiju.

An old man stood beside you, trembling, quickly pulling out his phone to call for help.

"Uh-oh," the three of you thought in unison. It was an alert.
