You were left reeling, the shock of his words sinking in. 'Did he just call me... The Siren?' Your face drained of color as a flood of questions swirled through your mind.

'Did he remember? How could he possibly remember? When did this happen? Why now, of all times, and in such a terrible way?'

The chill of the moment seeped into your bones, paralyzing your thoughts. His gaze was unwavering, serious, and you could feel the weight of his scrutiny bearing down on you.

'I have to act,' you thought urgently. 'Make him forget about me being the Siren!' Panic clawed at you as you scrambled to think of a way, any way, to ensure he wouldn’t turn against you. Swinging your legs over the side of the bed, you noticed how his posture shifted, how his eyes sharpened with caution.

"If you’re thinking of using your command on me, that won’t—" His words cut off abruptly as, in a flash, you were behind him. His peripheral vision caught only the sight of the bed, now empty, the IV catheter still dangling to the floor. He spun around, but it was too late.

Your eyes had already turned a piercing, crystalline white, and you began to hum the tune that would bind him once again to your will. The devices around you trembled and shattered, the sheer force of your voice disrupting all communication within the operation in this room.

"Forget about me being the Siren," you commanded, your voice ringing with unnatural power. Slowly, memories from his head of knowing you as the Siren vanished and vaguely remember.

His resistance was futile. His eyes grew heavy, his body sluggish, as he tried in vain to fight the enchantment. "I wasn’t going to tell them..." he murmured, his strength fading as his head slumped forward.

You caught him with ease. Gently, you guided him back to the bed, laying his head on the soft foam, and sat beside him, the reality of what you’d done beginning to sink in.

"Even if you don’t tell them, I know you’ll never see me the same way again," you whispered to yourself, a sigh escaping your lips. Your irises slowly returned to their normal emerald hue, but a familiar, painful sensation gnawed at your chest. Instinctively, you clutched at your heart, knowing all too well what it meant.

The core was advancing, calcifying your heart with every use of your Kaiju power, erasing yet another piece of your humanity.

'I can’t keep using this mutation,' you realized, cold sweat trickled down your temple. 'If I do, I might never be able to return to being fully human.' Your breath came in ragged gasps as you fought to steady yourself, to hold onto what little humanity you had left.

But before you could regain your composure, the door to the room swung open. Standing there was the last person you wanted to see but the first you wanted to lash out at. "Finally! You made him forget! I was in trouble—" Her words were cut short as you slapped her hard across the face in the blink of an eye, leaving a vivid red imprint on her cheek.
