ghost hunting pt. 5

Athena's POV

It had been a few minutes of us just sitting talking and Sam and Colby decided since the ghost brought up the tragedy it would be smart to bring up the history of this asylum now on camera, we already know because they told us off camera earlier.

I watch as they set up a camera and we all sit along the wall with Sam and Colby center of us and I'm in between grizzy and pezzy who are the two people I feel the safest with if I'm being honest.

"Ok so to explain the history of this place in a brief statement. This asylum was packed with people back in the day. People were admitted even if they didn't have any issues, once they were admitted they had no control over anything suffering from medical abuse to sexual abuse and things that drove the mentally sane to insanity. Most of the staff were sadistics who thought the mentally ill needed punished but there were a few who didn't agree with the practices being done and unfortunately their efforts to help didn't work. A few years later the patients finally snapped and started fighting back and within maybe an hour everyone was dead, patients, staff, everyone... Good or bad it didn't matter at that point" Colby and Sam explain.

"It really was a blood bath... You guys are fortunate enough to not have to see it" I say softly and pezzy gives me a small sad smile. I squeeze his hand in reassurance that I'm ok.

"Now with the history of the tragedy done, there is still one unanswered question... " Sam said before they turn to me. "Who is Skylar... I know you briefly introduced us earlier as well as I assume he's the kid from the viral video but who is he?" they ask.

I sigh and look at skylar, he nods his head yes giving me permission. "Skyler is an 8 year old boy.... He was my first ghost and I met him when I first moved into my old apartment back in California. He's from the 90s, and has an older sister who is also dead... She's around every now and then but she's a shadow spirit and not in the bad way don't worry. They were both murdered by family, her first while protecting Skylar but he ended up dying right after her. Since us meeting, he has officially bonded and attached himself to me. Wherever I go, he goes it's as simple as that" I explain with a soft smile. I'm very fond of Skylar and extremely protective of him just like he is with me. I'm happy to be surrounded by people so interested to learn about him without risk of judgement.

When it comes to Athena's abilities, they are based on my own. Skylar was and is a real kid, so is his older sister. Out of respect for the dead this is the one and only time their past and cause of death will be brought up in vague detail. How I portray Skylar and his sister are accurate to how they are in real life with me. If you have any issues in regards to these "characters" please remember they are and were real people.
