"If you know your enemy, you need not fear the results of a hundred battles."

Sun Tzu

When the Reliant arrives, the captain has altered the hull and engine to enable the ship to navigate through the hazardous nebula; it looks more like a sleeker ship hull than a swirly, colourful, distinct gas. This makes it the perfect place for criminals, thugs, and even rebels to set up shop so they can blend in and tamper with nebula sensor readings. The "Reliant" was then dispatched by the imperial navy to locate and look into them.

I was standing in front of my station on the bridge, flitting between the view screen of the bridge and the sensor readouts. The crew is silent as a result of the growing tension caused by the ship's humming sound, which was audible until the bridge across the ship. The captain is moving quickly around the command bridge, keeping an eye on the crew and using the provided data to look for signs of rebel activity.

"Lieutenant, status report," she demanded, her voice cutting through the quiet hum of the bridge.

With my fingers struggling over my console, I interpreted the data that flashed. "No contacts within range, Captain. The nebula's interference is making it difficult to get clear readings."

Captain Voss nodded, her expression grim. "Keep scanning. The rebels are out there, and they're using this nebula to their advantage."

We were on full alert, fearing that the rebels from the recent patrol groups would be destroyed by an ambush or the treacherous nebula as the Reliant pushed forward through it. A minute seemed to last an eternity as time passed. Then, without any prior notice, we heard a loud alarm. My console instantly displayed the alarm, along with enemies emerging from the nebula storm.

"Incoming contacts!" one of the sensor operators shouted. "Multiple ships emerge from the nebula!"

Turning on the viewscreen, I see the swift approach of enemy rebel fighters and corvettes; it appears they've managed to blend in with the nebula or even materialise. They opened fire with their guns blazing as soon as they were within range, so we were never even visible on our sensor. Following each lazer bolt fired at the "Reliant," the ship shook like the shield, causing the bridge to tremble.

"All hands to battle stations!" Voss barked, her voice firm and commanding. "Prepare for evasive manoeuvres!"

As I coordinated the ship's defences, my mind was racing. "Deploying TIE fighters. Focusing our main turbolaser batteries on the Corvettes."
