A dark, desolate battlefield on Dantooine. The landscape is scorched, twisted by war. Ash and smoke billow into the sky as the camera pans across a ravaged New Republic outpost.
(Leia's voice, somber): "There are some enemies that don't come for power... or control. They come to end everything."
New Republic forces fight desperately, their lines crumbling as Yuuzhan Vong warriors charge forward, wielding organic, lethal weapons. Monstrous biotechnological warbeasts smash through defenses as Republic soldiers fall back in terror.
Leia (voice-over, grim): "We thought we could resist. We thought we understood the cost."
New Republic starfighters clash with Yuuzhan Vong coralskippers in the sky above Dantooine. Explosions light up the atmosphere as ships are torn apart by the Vong's living weapons. On the ground, a brutal, chaotic fight ensues. Vong warriors hack through Republic troops, while twisted biological artillery rains destruction. In the distance, the native Dantari are shown fleeing, only to be hunted down by the Yuuzhan Vong

Quick flashes of Leia, standing aboard the bridge of a Republic warship, witnessing the horror unfold. The New Republic forces are retreating, defeated.
Leia (voice-over, determined):
"We lost that day... but we learned the truth. This war could not be won alone."
Leia's ship arriving over Bastion, the stronghold of the Imperial Remnant. As her ship drops out of hyperspace, she's greeted by a massive, intimidating fleet of Star Destroyers, Allegiance-class battlecruisers, and dreadnoughts-all primed for war.
