"This is a war that doesn't determine who's right, only who's left."

15 BBY FEW WEEKS AFTER OPERATION NEMESIS...

LOCATION: CORUSCANT, IMPERIAL PALACE

The Imperial Palace's dimly lit chamber had a calm, authoritative air to it. Emperor Palpatine leaned back in his throne-like chair, his hooded figure shrouded in mysterious darkness, while shadows danced across the walls. In front of him stood Grand Moff Tarkin, the epitome of Imperial authority and discipline.

The Emperor's voice, smooth and deceptively calm, filled the room. "Grand Moff Tarkin, you have requested an audience. What is it you wish to discuss?"

Tarkin, ever the picture of composed resolve, took a step closer to the Emperor. His voice was steady, with an undertone of eager anticipation. "Your Excellency, I wish to speak of Commodore Kodo Ringbey. His recent successes, particularly in Operation Nemesis, have shown him to be an exceptional officer with a remarkable blend of tactical brilliance and strategic foresight."

Palpatine's eyes gleamed with interest, his fingers steepled before his face. "Indeed? Tell me more about this Commodore. What sets him apart from the others?"

Tarkin's expression softened almost imperceptibly as he began. "Commodore Kodo has demonstrated not only military prowess but also a unique ability to inspire loyalty and maintain order among his subordinates. His handling of Operation Nemesis was exemplary. He outmanoeuvred a previously unknown threat, and his decisive actions neutralised a serious insurgent danger to the Empire."

Palpatine leaned forward slightly, intrigued. "A threat, you say? What was the nature of this insurgent force?"

Tarkin's eyes flickered with a hint of secrecy. "The materials recovered from the remnants of the insurgent forces—materials of unknown origin—suggest advanced technology and capabilities beyond our current understanding. Kodo's handling of this situation has been nothing short of remarkable."

Palpatine's curiosity was piqued. "And these materials? Have they yielded any insights into their origin or purpose?"

Tarkin's gaze became contemplative. "Not entirely. The materials are of an alien design, suggesting a level of technology we have not encountered before. Their potential applications remain a subject of intense study. This mystery has certainly captured the attention of several high-ranking officers, including myself."
