Wonder Woman: The Return of the Sorceress (Part 4)

A flashback scene commences with Hippolyta playing with a young Diana on the beach of Themyscira

Hippolyta "Diana my daughter, you are getting too fast for me"

Diana giggles as does Hippolyta

Hippolyta manages to tackle young Diana and they roll in the sand. Diana then looks out onto the sea

Diana "Mother, why can we not go beyond the ocean"

Hippolyta "Well darling, I told you this before. We are blessed in secrecy to live on this island of Paradise. We do not venture beyond our borders. It is the way of the goddesses"

Diana "What is out there?"

Hippolyta "We do not know as we do not communicate with the outside world. But before, it was full of evil. Evil your mother and her dear sisters fought. We were rewarded this island to live away from this, after many years of hardship, we were granted peace at last"

Diana "Are the outside world safe though?"

Hippolyta "We do not know, but I worked my hardest to ensure the people in need got the help they need. The world was happier after the people here established our ideals of peace. I like to think we left a lasting effect which is why we were granted this island"

Diana "Are there any other land out there?"

Hippolyta "Of course there is sweetheart"

Hippolyta then moves and points Diana in various direction

Hippolyta "Over there, not so far, is a place called Greece. Over there is a large mountain that is a gateway to the gods. Now if you look over in this direction, somewhere over there is the island of Alashiy, some refer it to Cyprus. Over there lies a rock where Aphrodite herself was born. Now beyond that is a vast large land, full of greenery, rivers and beaches- similar to Themyscira. If you go beyond you see different climates- for example, there is a very cold climate where you can feel snow?"

Diana "Snow?"

Hippolyta "Imagine touching the inside of your pillow but it is freezing cold"

Diana then nods and looks in a direction, Hippolyta also looks

Diana "Are there any more islands near the places you said?"

Hippolyta "Yes, so many. On one island is where I ran a training exercise. On another is where me and Phillippus went on a little trip. Then near to it..."

Diana "Yes mother?"

Hippolyta "Never mind. Now enough story time, it is your turn to catch me"

Hippolyta then runs but Diana stays still, looking in the distance. Hippolyta turns round

Hippolyta "You were always a curious one. When you just learning to crawl, the first thing you did was crawl straight to my dressing cabinet. Trust me Diana, I will feed your curiosity over time"

Diana nods and then a young blonde girl comes in

Blonde girl "Diana, Diana, the kangaroos are waking up. Let's feed them"

Diana then turns to Hippolyta

Hippolyta "Go, go play with Mala"

Diana then runs to Mala and they run off whilst Hippolyta looks over her

*An older Diana is then sitting in the Library and reads scriptures*

Diana "Clio! Clio! Where are you?"

The Librarian Clio then enters "Oh Princess, I think you have read every book in here, how do you keep discovering more"

Diana "It seems the Goddesses have given more literature than we anticipated. Also how am I discovering these books, you're the librarian"

Clio chuckles 

Diana "There is some terminology I am unsure of"

Clio "Oh what's that?"

Diana "What is Hecate?"

Clio then stays silent

Diana "What?"

Clio "Ok Diana, the library is closed. Please return the books back?"

Diana "Closed? Clio, this library never closes. You yourself established this rule so Amazons can read at their pleasure. What about this term uncomforts you? And what does this dot mean here, it looks like an island"

Clio then shivers

Diana "Clio, what is it?"

Hippolyta then walks in 

Diana "Mother what is Hecate? What is this island thing? Does it relate to that conversation we had on the beach years ago?"

Hippolyta sighs "Come with me Diana, I am about to tell you a story you have the right to hear"

Clio shyly waves 

Diana "Well?"

Hippolyta "Sit down please. Now this story happened well before you were born. When I was the leader of the Amazons, back when Artemis just got promoted to general, back when Phillippus and I were in the early days of marriage. This is a story of when Ares' greatest ally, a powerful sorceress called Circe, ruined us from within. She was our greatest enemy and a villain that personally got to me. But an Amazon can never be defeated, not together. I did things I am not too proud of, things I tried to keep within me. But you as my daughter deserve to know what happened"
