Arren, Emily, and Dave huddled inside the local store with Martini and other uneasy townsfolk. The usual bustle of commerce had given way to an anxious quiet, punctuated only by whispers of uncertainty and the occasional creak of floorboards.

Emily sat apart from the group, her thoughts a tumultuous swirl of memories and unresolved emotions. She glanced at Dave, who sat beside her, his expression a mix of concern and understanding.

"Dave," Emily began quietly, her voice barely above a whisper amidst the tense atmosphere. "I need to talk to Sam. About what happened between him and I. I just... I don't want things to be awkward between us, especially now with everything going on."

"You'll figure it out, Em. Sam's a good guy. He'll understand."

As they sat in the uneasy silence of the store, Emily's thoughts turned to Sam.
