HELAENA AND RHAENYS.

"What?"

"We need to leave," Rhaenys whispered again, her hands gently gripping Helaena's shoulders. "And take the children with us as well."

"To where?" Helaena questioned, her eyes widening at Rhaenys' words.

"Dragonstone. Erryk managed to take your children's dragon eggs, we must make haste." That was enough for Helaena to get moving, immediately moving to find a cloak. It wasn't that she sided with Rhaenyra, she didn't side with Aegon either. But to be pulled out as a way of blame in the war, she hoped that through the kindness of her sister's heart, she'd be spared some grace. Rhaenys helped the girl dress her children as well. Maelor sheepishly wakes up to put on something that wasn't for his slumber, Jahaerys and Jahaera being dressed by their mother and grand aunt. Once ready, Helaena cradled Jahaera in her arms, Jahaerys in Rhaenys', and Maelor's hand in Erryk's. They were ready to leave King's Landing.

The walk to The Blackwater's was long, but they could not complain. They were trying to leave while the sun still sleeps. "What of our dragons?" asked Helaena, following Erryk down the narrow alleyway.

"I won't leave Meleys. If I could get to the Dragonpit, then–"

"No," Erryk interrupted. "They'll expect you there, Princess. You won't get past the gates. Now come, you five must make for riverfront and find a ship." But whatever Erryk had planned, it failed. The crowd started to surge through, pushing and pulling as the guards forced the commonfolk to one area. Helaena clung to her daughter tighter to her chest, keeping her head down as Rhaenys kept a hand on her shoulder. She felt Maelor hold on tight to her arm, clinging on as he didn't want to be lost. Being separated from the one who was trying to rescue them, Helaena worried that this might end in tragedy. But then she thought to herself for a quick second, then looked towards Rhaenys. "The Dragonpit," she whispered, Rhaenys nodding as she quickly caught onto the girl's thoughts.

It was an agony to stand still and watch as Aegon walked to their mother, a crown on his head. She looked away as he climbed up the stairs, unable to bear the sight in front of her. When she looked to her right, Rhaenys tilted her head as if it was a sign to follow her. And Helaena did, urging Maelor to walk in front of her. She could feel people staring as if she was disrupting the view of their so-called show. But the silver-haired princess knew that there was no time to waste.

Thankfully she and Rhaenys arrived on time, their footsteps making swift noises on the ground. It wasn't a moment too soon when she found Dreamfyre, a smile escaping her face. "Hurry," she told Maelor and Jahaera, her children hurriedly climbing her dragon. Helaena watched as Rhaenys helped Jahaerys onto Meleys, which meant everyone was ready to go.

"Long live Aegon!" The crowd cheered upstairs, but the moment was short-lived.

Two dragons busted beneath the ground, and the common folk roared and screamed out of terror. With the smoke and the rubble, it was hard to tell what was happening, but Meleys' roar was familiar enough for everyone to hear.

Alicent watched as people tried to escape the scene, some dead, some barely breathing. But as the dust cleared away, two figures could be seen. One was Rhaenys, immediately Alicent steps in front of her son. But the second figure was the one who brought her to gasp.

Helaena.

And for the first time in Alicent's life, she watched Helaena smile, deranged yet free. Meleys inched closer to Alicent, before letting out a loud screech. It was Rhaenys' turn to smile before the two dragons flew off to Dragonstone.

As the wind blew on her face, Helaena had a vision. "A caged bird could break free, even once its wings are torn," she whispered to herself, tears running down her face as she lets out a sigh of relief. "A caged bird could break free."
