Finneas' POV:

"Long time no see, Billie," I chuckled, a wide smile spreading across my face.

I watched as tears welled up in her eyes. Then suddenly, Billie ran to me and hugged me so tight I could barely breathe. I hugged her back, leaned down a bit, and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

"I was so fucking scared that something was gonna happen to you or... they'd find you," she whispered, her voice trembling but clear.

"I know, but I'm fine. I'm here with you... we are here with you," I said, glancing over at the blonde girl leaning against the door frame.

She had a soft, calm expression on her face as she watched our touching reunion.

Rachel's POV:

Standing there, I kinda felt like a third wheel, but it didn't bother me at all. For a moment, Finneas and I made eye contact. He gave me a smirk and nodded gently, and I returned the gesture.

I knew how much Billie's brother homecoming meant to her. I wasn't jealous or anything; I just couldn't be, even if I wanted to. She had been giving me her full attention for the past week, and I have to say, Billie really might be the love of my life.

Of course, there were little misunderstandings between us, but I wouldn't call it 'arguing.' Mostly, it stemmed from Billie being constantly worried about something. I often found her zoning out.

Every time I tried to help her with her thoughts, she'd just say that 'everything is okay' and that she was fine. I didn't want to push her, but I didn't need dhampir senses to feel and see that something wasn't right. It hurt me that she wasn't being honest with me lately.

As I watched Billie and Finneas, I couldn't help but feel huge amount of happines. I was glad that Finneas was back and safe, but Billie's secrecy gnawed at me. Maybe now, with her brother here, she would finally open up the door to her mind full of worries and mysteries.

I walked over to them, placing a gentle hand on Billie's back. She looked up at me, her eyes still shining with tears, and gave me a small, grateful smile.

"Hey" I said softly, "Everything alright?"

Billie nodded slowly, wiping the tears from her cheeks with the back of her hand. "Yeah," she whispered, her voice a bit steadier. "Yeah, now everything is alright." She smiled and flicked her gaze between me and Fin.

Billie's POV:

I took a deep breath, feeling the warmth and comfort of Rachel's hand on my back and Finneas's strong arms around me. It was like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders, even if just for a moment. I pulled back slightly to look at Finneas, taking in his familiar features that I had missed so much.

"Fuck, I missed you," I said, my voice still a bit shaky.

Finneas grinned, his eyes sparkling with a mix of relief and amusement. "Missed you too, sis. More than you know."

Rachel moved to stand beside me, her presence grounding me. I reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "This is Rachel," I said, introducing her to Finneas. "My... girlfriend."

Rachel's cheeks flushed a little, but she smiled warmly at Finneas. "Nice to meet you, Finneas. I've heard a lot about you."

Finneas raised an eyebrow, his grin widening. "All good things, I hope," he teased, earning a laugh from both Rachel and me.
