It's officially the weekend and me, Noey, Heng and Nam are sat at the local café near my house, chatting and gossiping about random things that have happened this week.
It's also been around 3 days since I've given the milk tea to Rebecca. And since then, I've been consistently doing so, making sure I don't miss any day out. I put the milk tea everyday on her table at lunchtime where she and her friends sit. But I never say a word. I never dare to. I casually just run away like an awkward teenager afterwards.
Stupid, huh?
And honestly? I think it's working. I mean, she hasn't scolded or screamed at my face trying to demand why I'm doing it. All she does is glance at the cup before sipping on it. I think she likes milk tea so it's basically a win-win for both of us.
"Oi, Freen! Pay attention. You're the one who invited us to meet up and you ain't even listening." Nam scolds making the other two nod in agreement. Her voice immediately takes me out of my daze and I roll my eyes at their constant demands. "I swear all of you are so dramatic. Let me be in peace alright?" I argue back, taking a sip of my blue slushy.
*Buzzz buzz*
I take a glance down at my phone, seeing a notification pop up.
Dad.
I sigh for a second or so before picking it up and checking the message.
"Come home. I need to talk to you."

As I read the message, I run my hands through my hair, clearly knowing this must have something to do with the plan I decided to do for him. Nam tries to peak over in curiosity. "What's up with you?" She asks, but I don't answer right away. Instead I stand up, shoving my phone into my pocket and pushing my chair in.
The three of them watch me in confusion. "I have to go. My dad wants to talk." And before they can even respond, I'm already at the entrance of the café, pushing the door open and leaving immediately.

-Chankimha Mansion-
About 10 minutes later, I arrive at the mansion. The maid opens the front door and I step in immediately, taking my shoes and coat off. I want to get this chat over and done with because I know he wants to know if the plan is going well so far.
I run up the stairs quickly, and once I make it to the door of his office I take a deep breath before opening it without his permission. There, I see him seated in his chair behind his dark oak desk, glasses on and reading a newspaper like always.
He looks up, startled at the sudden interruption before his eyes soften as he notices me. He gives a warm smile making me ease just a little. I shut the door gently behind me before walking towards his desk and sitting on the chair opposite him. My dad takes his glasses off before intertwining his fingers together and rests them on the desk.
"I'm glad you made it Freen. This won't take long, and I think you already know what this is about." His tone is gentle and calm, making sure I don't feel intimidated. I nod slowly. "It's about the plan isn't it?" I ask, my fingers digging into my thighs. His smiles widens.
