Eyes locked, silent lingers and me and Rebecca stay standing there. My heart still thumping hard, unable to get my mind off what just happened a few minutes back.

Rebecca then slowly looks down at the men who are still knocked out below her feet..and then back at me. She clears her throat slightly, probably having no clue what to say. Because honestly?

I think she's just as surprised as me.

"You okay?" She mutters, just loud enough for me to hear but to also make my pounding heart skip a beat in a second. Her voice vulnerable, hoarse and harsh, trying to calm down from the anger that must've built up inside of her a few minutes back. And that also stirs something inside me.

Without having no idea how to respond, I let out a soft hum and a tiny nod just to allow her to understand that I'm really okay. She replies with a nod as well, firmer and more controlled like she's trying to mask her vulnerability.

And just for a second, I look down to notice her fist slightly bruised, red and raw. I let out a little accidental gasp making her raise an eyebrow and follow my gaze to her own knuckles. I honestly didn't mean to do that. But if someone who supposedly hates your guts saves you from pervy men, then you must show a little worry.

"You're hurt." I whisper softly, taking a step forward which immediately makes her take a step back.

"I'm fine. Not that much damage was done. I can sort that out myself." She responds fast, teeth gritting against each other making me scoff. I take another step forward, grabbing her wrist before she can pull away. I feel the way her body tensed up immediately, the way it goes into shock. I caress my thumb against her wrist, something I know I shouldn't be doing. But... I can't help it.

"Rebecca." I say softly making her huff stubbornly. "What?"

"You helped me. So let me help you." She looks at after that. Her eyes trying to see if I'm lying to her. But I can't. Not now. And to be fair I kind of feel bad. Knowing that she saved me while I'm here trying to become friends with her to get information for my father. But... I can't back down now. I mean, I'm so close.

After our little conversation, Rebecca hasn't disagreed since. Her stubborn little self finally allowed to me to take care of that bruised fist of hers. We stroll across the darkened city of Bangkok, finding a quiet place to sit so I can bandage that fist. The street lights shine bright enough to light up the darkened sky as we finally make our way to a quiet park.

The swings swing slightly from the cool breeze and the rest of the park left abandoned as it probably was once filled with children who actually loved to play outside instead of sitting indoors everyday on their devices.
I tell Rebecca to sit down on the park bench before rushing towards the pharmacy across the streets. I quickly grab some bandages and some random creams that hopefully will help the aching I know she must have.

I pay for them before running out the shop and towards the park to see Rebecca still sitting on the bench, her fingers tapping on her thigh to create a tune. She stops instantly seeing me, I take a seat beside her before opening the pot of cream.

"Hand cream? This is to make your hand moisturised, not stop aches." She speaks up, her tone cool and composed. My eyebrows furrow slightly as a read it. "Well it's either this or nothing." I explain, taking a large scoop and rubbing it against the back of her hand. She hisses slightly and coldness before relaxing.
