LATER IN THE taxi, traffic wasn't moving at all.

Gwen and I were a little bored in the back of the car, playing games of rock, paper, scissors to pass the time.

That was until our taxi driver spoke.

"It's Spider-Man!"

My head snapped up at his words and I looked out the window with a smile.

I couldn't see Spider-Man, but I could tell there was something up with the Brooklyn Bridge.

"I'll, um, I'll be right back." I told both Gwen and the taxi driver as I unclipped my seatbelt and exited the car, moving closer to see the bridge.

There, written out in large block letters made of webs, were three words.

I LOVE YOU

Reading over the words a few times, I couldn't help but smile widely, and maybe even got just a little bit teary eyed.

That was when I saw Peter swinging towards me, so I held out my arm and he scooped me up to swing me over to the bridge.

"Oh, my God, Peter, this is so high up." I gripped onto him tightly, looking down at the long drop below us. I still hated heights. When I looked back up at him, I took off his mask.

"Hi." He smiled.

"Hi." I responded, my arms wrapping around him more as he held onto my waist.

"Did you get my message?" He asked me.

"What message?" I thought he meant a phone message.

"The message right there." He nodded down to his message on the bridge, his forehead almost touching my own.

"Oh, right, that. That was you? I couldn't tell." I joked.

"Don't do that." He told me, his nose brushing against mine.

"I couldn't make it out."

"I'll tell you what it says. It says, 'I love you.' Because I love you." His arms around me tightened and pulled me closer. "And no offense, but you're wrong."

"What am I wrong about?" I asked.

"You're wrong about us not being right for each other. We are right for each other. And we always will be. In every universe you're gonna be the one for me." He stated, his voice a whisper as he rested his forehead against mine. "Every single one. You're my path, baby. You're my future."

I looked into his eyes with a smile before he went on.

"And the millions of reasons we shouldn't be together don't matter. I'm tired of them. I'm tired of every single one of them. We've all gotta make a choice. Right? Well, I choose you."

The more he spoke the more it felt as if my heart was about to explode and I would pass out. And I would've been fine with that as long as he was the one to save me.

"So... here's my thought. England. Both of us. I'll go with you and Gwen." He said and I didn't think my smile could get any wider. "If you wanna get out of New York and start somewhere new, then I do too. I'm following you now. I'm just gonna follow you everywhere. I'm just gonna follow you the rest of my life."

I was at a loss for words, and I was just so happy. I loved Peter Parker so much and I was going to spend the rest of my life with him.

"I mean, they got crime there in England." Peter said.

"Yeah." I forced the word out.

"They got tons of crime, it seems."

"Tons." I repeated, nodding along, just staring into his eyes.

"They got, uh... Jack the Ripper." I laughed and he tried to make a serious face. "What? They haven't caught Jack the Ripper yet. You didn't know that?"

I couldn't stop myself after that and I was kissing him not even a second after he finished talking.

It was both sweet and just so desperate. I had missed him so much. Missed being with him. Missed kissing him.

The hand of mine that wasn't holding his mask grabbed onto the back of his neck and his hands moved their way up so they wrapped around my upper back below my shoulders.

After the first kiss, we kissed again and I swore nothing could ruin the moment.

But, of course, I was wrong.

There was a loud whirring through the whole city before everything went dark.

"What the hell is that?" Peter asked as we looked over to the power station where lots of blue electricity was crackling around.

"Is that Max?" I questioned him before glancing around. "He must've cut the power to the whole city."

Slowly, bit by bit, there were crackles of electricity would burst from a section of the city and then it would go dark.

"There's gotta be some kind of blackout plan, right? Some kind of backup?" Peter wondered.

"There's an emergency reset at the power plant." I stated.

That fact was a fact I remembered from when I was just a little kid.

The power in our building had gone out and I remembered worrying to my Dad about if the power went out everywhere.

"If he cuts the transmission lines, they're never gonna get this back up." I added. That part I just knew from being smart.

"How'll I stop him? Every time I get close he fries my my web shooters."

"Okay, have you tried grounding them?" I suggested.

"Yeah, I've tried everything. Rubber, plastic-"

"Did you try magnetizing them?"

"I didn't try magnetizing them." He admitted.

"Peter, think back to 8th Grade science class. If you magnetize a nail with a battery..."

"It holds an electric charge." He finished.

"There you go." I smiled and handed Peter his mask back. "Okay, so, I love you and all, but can we please get down from here now?"
