Chapter 30 - My Limit.
Initial Notes
Hello, dear readers! All is well?
Here's another chapter.
Just wanted to say I really love all the comments, it really warms my heart to know you guys are enjoying the story.
Will
The hotel we're in has as one of its attractions a luau held on the beach.
Everyone's excited. My mother even bought a blue flowered Hawaiian shirt for me to wear at the luau. I paired it with white pants and to top it all off: flip-flops so that I could easily take them off and walk barefoot on the sand.
I was finishing buttoning my shirt in front of the mirror when Nico came out of the bathroom.
"Nice shirt," Nico comments, amused.
"Thanks. My mother bought it for me," I say, turning to look at him.
As expected, Nico didn't adhere to the Hawaiian tourist fashion, instead, Instead, he opted for black twill pants, a v-neck blouse that transitioned from gray to black, with rolled-up sleeves, and to finish off the outfit a pair of black leather flip-flops that I saw his mother buying earlier.
He is perfect, as always.
He approaches me confidently, making my heart race. He lifts his hands and adjusts the collar of my shirt. Once finished, he places his hands upon my chest and lifts his head, catching me watching him, the intensity of this exchange leaving me breathless.
"Brings out the blue in your eyes," he breathes.
Unable to hold back, I move in for a kiss that is eagerly received by Nico.
***
We strolled to the beach alongside our parents.
The luau was beautifully organized by the hotel staff.
Bamboo torches provided lighting along with the bonfire that was in the middle of everything. There were round tables surrounded by cushions chairs distributed along the beach, and a small stage that suggests we would have live music soon.
There was a menu on each table, so food and drinks were brought by the staff at the guests' request.
After eating some appetizers, having some drinks and listening to some music, Nico and I got away from the luau and went for a stroll along the seashore.
The moonlight glimmers, casting a glow on the white sand and the sea that shifts from blue to green. It's beautiful.
The lighting of the luau appeared in the distance, as did the sound of music and of the party. I was barefoot, Nico was too, which made me smile, remembering him grumbling at the beginning of the vacation about not liking sand, I think that after so many walks and "losing" two sneakers because of our playing he realized that sand is not that bad.
Suddenly, he stops walking, which also makes me stop and glance at him with a questioning look.
"You didn't finish explaining why you changed," Nico says after a few seconds.
I think back on our conversation and see that it is true. I started to explain, then I apologized and then...
"You distracted me," I say.
Nico blushes slightly and looks at the sea, avoiding my gaze.
"I'm not distracting you now," he says as he resumes walking.
