"Macaque... I miss Wukong."

The macaque's eyes widened at the girl's words. She sat there, trying to wipe the sweat off her. Thanks to her new teacher, she had been training nonstop. Her once sworn brother is pushing her to the limit.

"I know...

I know very well..."

"The Samadhi fire. That's what they are after."

"That's it!" Macaque grabs the gibbon's arms. "The Samadhi fire can get us away from this hell. We can be free again like before."

Yuè Y/N looks down at where his hands were before looking up at the monkey, filled with new hope.

"Okay... let's do this."

"Wait, what? You're benching me?" Tang says in a heartbroken voice, a bit shaky and offended by MK's choice.

"Pretty much. All right, team! Let's go win ourselves that last Ring of Samadhi." They all cheer and prepare for the stage while Tang looks down, and the rest hype themselves up.

While the 'Monkie Kid and the Monkie Kids' performed, it was a perfect time for the two monkeys in the dark to strike. Tang was up the lantern trying to get the ring while they sang and danced to prove his worth, and Macaque looked at the gibbon with a smirk on his face.

"I'll handle little Tangie while you keep an eye on the kids~"

And with that, he's gone.

Y/N looked down at the stage where Pigsy was singing, her eyes big while watching the performance. Seeing Mei and MK made something twist in her heart, but she shook it off quickly.

It wasn't until Pigsy hit a high note, which made her cover her ears, that she got up and launched herself toward the lantern to catch up with Macaque, who was groaning at the noise.

"Macaque..." she calls out before jumping to get the ring before Tang.

"No!" Tang yells in desperation to get the ring. So he does the first thing that comes to mind, and he tackles the gibbon, and they both fall off the lantern.

"What the--!?"

Pigsy automatically catches Y/n out of instinct before falling on one knee to catch Tang, who squashes the gibbon.

"The ring!"

"nice work, tangy!"

Tang laughs nervously, blushing at the praise before snapping out of it and warning the rest of them. "Macaque and Y/N are here! they're after the rings!"

They raise their eyebrows at the noise of what sounded like a whistling kettle before they all jump at the sight of the gibbon pushing Tang off them and jumping into the air. Y/N was bright red from anger, and you could practically see the smoke coming out of her ears as she snatched the ring and jumped down.

"AH!? Miss Y/n!?"

Just as Y/n was about to launch herself into the air, she was grabbed by Wukong, and she let out a strangled noise as he tried to pry the ring off her hands. "You stubborn little--!"
