Their Saving Grace

Chapter 13

A/n: 

I have rewritten the scenes like 7 times and in the end, I just went with it. Hope you like it and sorry if it's not what you expected.

I know in the canon Otto informed Viserys about Rhaenyra and Daemon early in the morning but in here, Otto being too frustrated that Rhaenyra has constantly destroyed his plans over the last year, he couldn't stop his happiness and informed Viserys as soon as he found he out. So, the time Daemon was spotted in the brothel was approximately around the same time Viseyrs visited the nursery.

---------Earlier that debacle of a Night---------

Viserys remembers having dinner with Rhaenyra, Alicent and Aegon that night. It was Alicent's idea. Since they would all be very busy with the Wedding preparation, she thought it would be a idea to spend time together before things get hectic. She has even extended her invitation to Daemon who refused the invitation. He remembers that Rhaenyra left with Alicent and Aegon clinging onto Rhaenyra as he was upset, and Rhaenyra was consoling him.

"I was thinking that we should go to the Driftmark and talk about the betrothal, now that the war is over, and lord Corlys has returned." They were almost done with their dinner when Viserys bought up the topic.

"That is a wonderful idea father, when do you think we should leave."

"I was thinking we should leave in a week's time. What do you think, Alicent. I was thinking Rhaenyra, and I should make this should make this travel while you stay here with the kids and look after the court affairs in my stead."

"You are leaving." Aegon interrupted before Alicent could give a reply.

"It's only for a few days, Aegon. I will be back before you know it." Rhaenyra tried to consol Aegon who was getting more upset by the minute.

"No, you cannot leave me here. I am coming with you."

"You can't come with us Aegon. Besides it will help you get used to it, when your sister leaves for 6 moons for the tour." Viserys told Aegon before Rhaenyra has a chance to reply to him. He really thought he was helping his son.

"What" Aegon exclaimed turning to Rhaenyra. "You are leaving for 6 moons." Aegon climbed over the chair into Rhaenyra's arms and clung onto her neck. "You cannot leave me. I won't allow you to leave." He was on the verge of tears. And it was clear in his voice.

Rhaenyra was rubbing his back trying to calm him down. Alicent got up from her seat. "Excuse us, your grace. I think it is time we take our leave. He acts like this when he is sleepy. I am sure everything will be fine in the morrow once he has gotten enough sleep." Alicent walked over to Rhaenyra.

Rhaenyra got up from her chair with Aegon still in her arms. "I will see you in the morrow, father." Rhaenyra left the room with Alicent while consoling the prince.

---------Present---------

And from what Alicent told him when he visited the nursery earlier, Aegon was too upset to let go of Rhaenyra even after he fell asleep. It was very clear that Rhaenyra has spent the night dealing with Aegon. He knows how Aegon can get when he is upset. So, if Rhaenyra wanted to (which he was not sure that Rhaenyra would do something like that) there was no way that Rhaenyra was able leave Aegon and sneak to a brothel with her uncle. And Alicent was there with them all night. She would have never allowed Rhaenyra to leave with her uncle at this hour. And, if there is one person that his daughter would never disobey it's Alicent.

And moreover, he saw Rhaenyra in the nursery less than a candle mark before Otto came to him, around the same time that Otto informant has allegedly seen her in the brothel. After considering all the things Viserys came to the conclusion that Otto was lying to him but why would lie to him. That was the question Viserys couldn't answer for himself no matter how much he has tried. (Well, there is only one person who could clear my doubts.) Viserys called upon Ser Harrold who quickly entered the room.
