The house was awakened by the Ash/Pikachu electric alarm clock. With a groan, Ash, Hilda, and Selene made their way down for breakfast. Ash, Red, and Yellow's Pikachus hopped up on the table for their breakfast. "You good son" Red asked not looking up from the paper sipping on coffee. "Pikachu's thunderbolt doesn't get any easier in the morning." Ash laid his head on the table "Why does it keep happening?" Ash groaned. "Believe me son it doesn't get any easier," Yellow said laying oran berry pancakes on the table. Red nodded leaving the Pikachu's rubbing the back of their heads embarrassed."So, what's the plan today" Red looked around the table putting down the paper. "We're going to go back to the lab to make sure everything is going good overnight and do some training then return our Pokemon before we head out tomorrow." Selene through a mouth full of pancakes.
"I'm going to the Pallet House with Chrystal, Yellow, and Leaf to hammer out the last of the details before heading to Blue and Chrystal's for dinner." Delia sipped her coffee. "What about you dear?"
"Blue and I are going to visit Bill. The old man is getting on in years and We'd like to catch up and tell stories like we used to." Red reminisced. "He says he saw the large Dragonite again a week ago. Like when you and your friends saw it. Blue and I want a crack at it, Charizard and Blastoise haven't had much of a challenge in a while and our never-ending battle between the four of us does get dull at times." Red smiled remembering his and Blue's first battle with their starters.
"Is it possible its Dynamaxed?" Ash asked, "Bill's had years of studying it he thinks it grew that way and not like that Tentacruel you and your friends came across." Red nonchalantly. "Wait you know about that?" Ash going pale. "Oh, we know so don't you three think you can keep anything from us in Paldea." Yellow informed them.
"Damn it Ash you had to get into shit that'll hinder us," Hilda said exasperated. "You do realize that no matter what we do they'll somehow know" Selene looking out the corner of her eye.
"Oh, before you go up to the lab, I got a couple of things I wanna give to three." Red puts his paper down and disappears from the kitchen. "What does Daddy wanna give us?" Selene asks, looking at her mothers. "You'll have to wait and see, just know that you'll want to use them to train with them." Leaf smiled while drinking her coffee.
A minute later Red came down a couple of boxes and three incubators. "First off, I miss your birthdays the last couple of years. I know that gifts can't make up for lost time know that I'm sorry and these will help you become greater trainers." Red handed the first two boxes to each of them. Then gave them an incubator with an egg.
Ash's egg was white with red spots, inside those spots were yellow dots. Hilda's was lime green and brown. While Selene's was baby blue, dark blue with white and yellow spots. The three siblings looked at the eggs with stars in their eyes. Pikachu was looking at it in wonder. Wondering who is going to be his new teammate and family member.
"Thanks, Dad/dy!" they said in unison. "you're welcome kids" Red smiled. They moved the eggs to the side. Ash opened the first box and it astounded him. "Z crystals!?" he had only five Z crystals and in the box were the remaining 13 he didn't have. Now that he thought about it he defeated a handful of totem Pokemon without officially challenging them.
"Wow, a Z-ring, and is this all the Z-crystals?!" Hilda said with excitement the stars in her eyes never leaving her eyes since she saw the egg. "yeah, that's what they are!" Selene said then she frowned "Wait Hilda won't be able to use the Z-crystals without being blessed to do so. If she uses them, they'll shatter." Selene said looking at her dad. Hilda got sad at hearing this, she was about to close the box and leave it in a corner of her closet.
"I can do that" Ash with a smile on his face. "What you can?" Hilda asked with hope. "As Alola Champion I have the same blessing to grant you the ability to use Z-moves, but you're going to have to battle me for it," Ash said with a competitive smile.
