❝silly little me❞

I wrote so many letters,
To find their way to you.
To beg you, to please you,
To let you know I need you.
Oh, silly little me.

I discovered a whole new shore,
For you to be the king.
Merely for you to reign
Mercilessly over me.
Oh, silly little me.

I put out the flames
As if they were nothing,
Forgetting afterwards I must
Inhale cinder, smoke and dust.
Oh, silly little me.

I thought someone would save me
Before the ground caves in.
In vain, I've waited a while,
But got stuck alone in a broken tile.
Oh, silly little me.

I had so many dreams and hopes,
But the stars used them against me.
Next time I'll be careful what I wish for,
Or otherwise I'll be
Just again, you'd see,
That silly little me.
