It's the day before the big Halloween party and I can't help but feel antsy about what Theo said.

Levi is going to make his move tomorrow and I don't know what to make of it. Theo said that Levi is searching for a USB.

I can't help but wonder what is on it that Levi would risk snooping around our dead teacher's office. We don't have cameras in the school so the chance of him getting caught is slim but not slim enough that it's not a risk of exposing him.

If someone finds him there they would only jump to conclusions.

The same conclusion I did.

Look where that got me.

For some reason I feel like there is more to this story.

We still don't know who Levi was talking on the phone with that night and that scares me because it could mean that there is another dangerous person out there.

I'm so in my head that I don't notice the person in front of me and accidentally bump into them.

I look up to see that I bumped into none other than Theo, who seems to be walking out of my dorm.

My last class of the day only ended moments ago, so how is he here before me?

I narrow my eyes at him. "What were you doing in my dorm?"

"Just had to make a special delivery." He winks.

"If it's something like tadpoles or worse our little partnership is over, for real." I give him a steely look.

"Why must you always think the worst of me?" He groans

"Hm, let me think. What about that one time I handed my English paper in and the next day it was suddenly gone? Or the time you actually put a live tadpole in my bag?"

Theo moves closer to me until we're only a foot away from each other. "What about that one time you locked me in a classroom so that I would miss our chemistry test? Mrs. Wallace still doesn't believe that you locked me in a classroom on the other side of school. She says you're too sweet to do that. If only she knew how feisty you actually can be."

I let out a small laugh.

Theo looks at me with a smile.

"What?" I ask as I stop laughing.

"It's just good to see you smiling again. I missed it."

My lips part in surprise. I didn't expect him to say that.

Suddenly, it's quiet and neither of us know what to say.

"Well, I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow," he says with a sheepish smile before walking off to his dorm.

I walk into my dorm and stop in my tracks as I find something laying on my bed.

It's a Halloween costume. I'd recognise the green and purple colour combination anywhere.
