Leilani's cousins' wails and pained groans fill the entire hospital hallway. Being in a car with her was definitely a lot, especially since she was cursing out her boyfriend the whole time.

"Lela, it's going to be okay, I promise," Malia coos as she brushes the side of Lela's forehead. "I called your mom. She's on her way."

"I don't want that-OW-pipiki piliki here. She kicked me out. She doesn't want me or my baby."

Kai, Leilani, and Aolani gasp at the Hawaiian Lela slips out. "Oh, no, she didn't," Kai says.

"What'd she say?" I asked Leilani.

"She called her mom a selfish bitch."

Eh, I've called my mom worse.

"Leilani, I'm going to stay with her. You can take everyone back to the party," Malia says when she comes back over to us.

She takes out the car keys and before Leilani can reach for it, Kai snatches them. "Perfect, let's get go-"

Leilani grips the back of his neck when he tries to walk away and drags him back to his original spot.

That was hot.

"No, it's okay, makuahine. We're family and family look after each other. We'll stay here through the whole thing," Leilani promises and glares at Kai. "No matter how long it takes."

Kai grumbles something before sulking in one of the seats. Malia kisses Leilani on the cheek before walking away.

"You guys better make up for this next weekend," Kai hisses. "I was supposed to have the party of the year."

"You'll live," Aolani says, taking a seat next to him. "These hupo you're throwing the party for won't even matter in a little when you're at college."

"I'm not going to college," Kai responds. "Now what?"

"Now nothing. My point still stands. Just avoid them when you're delivering the mail to their house."

Leilani snorts. Kai glares at both of them. "Thank you for all the help." He shoves both of them a middle finger before walking off.

I take his empty seat next to Leilani. I lean into her and lace my fingers with her. I kiss her knuckles. "Excited for a new cousin?"

"Yeah, I am," she replies. "I have severe baby fever. And I love moments like this, y'know because it reminds me of my future."

"Oh yeah?" I murmur. "And what do you see in your future?"

"I want to be married to the love of my life. With at least two kids, no more than three," she states firmly. "Living in a house. Each one of our kids has their own room. They'd be able to have anything they want and our attention whenever they needed it."
