"You are an idiot," Ethan says.

After waiting at Leilani's door for two hours and then getting kicked out of her hotel room, I was feeling something weird. Something that I haven't felt in a long time. Except only ten times worse.

I went to talk to Ethan because he's lovesick and down bad. And he understands women more than anyone I know.

I'm starting to regret going to him now. "Gee thanks," I say.

"I mean, what did you expect me to say?" he asks. "Good job buddy, she definitely likes you more now."

I roll my eyes. "Obviously not, but I just needed a professional's perspective on my feelings. I don't understand them."

"You mean that you're having romantic and not just sexual feelings for Leilani, and you're scared to get your heart broken like last time?" Ethan asks.

Okay, he was really starting to piss me off. I rise from my seat. "Thanks so much for this lovely talk, Ethan."

"Your temper tantrums won't help you get anywhere. You act before you think and it's not a smart trait. Keep it up and you'll push Leilani away," Ethan says.

"No one asked you anything," I gruff.

"Fine, you don't want to ask me....let's ask Salma." Ethan takes out his phone and dials a number.

I sigh. "Do we really have to get Salma involved?" Salma Alvaro is a headache like no other, especially in arguments. She's good at them. Too good. She knows the weak spots of her opponent and how to push the correct buttons.

The phone rings a couple of times before Salma answers. "Ethan, I'm busy. Julian and Renee got into some argument, and she invited us over for a girl's night."

"Can you pull away for just a second? Your brother is being an idiot again," Ethan says.

Again? Pinche pendejo.
|Spanish- Fucking asshole.|

"Did he do something to Leilani?" she asks. "I thought you said they looked like they were in love."

Love? Love?? He thinks that we look like we're in love? I don't...she doesn't....

I don't even remember what love feels like.

"Evelyn showed up at our breakfast spot this morning and asked if she could join. Santiago said yes. And then he didn't speak or look at Leilani the entire time. And they seemed so loved up this morning," Ethan explains.

"You gossip like a middle school girl," I grit.

"I swear to God, Santiago...you are so lucky you have me and Ethan," Salma says. "How the hell could you invite Evelyn to the table when Leilani was already there with you?"
