"Do you think they're dating?" Phil asked me while were doing our own projects. I just shrugged my shoulders. "Wanna bet?"

"I think we can both agree that they're definitely dating."

"Love, I just remembered. My birthday's coming, so I'm planning to have a simple celebration here in my condo. Probably just another chillnuman sesh with our friends and some of our blockmates." I glanced at Phil. "You're free on Saturday evening, right?"

"Try ko. Baka kasi busy ako sa plates. Kasama ba sila Estelle?"

"Why would I invite her?" Natawa ako sa sagot niya. At least, I'm not going to overthink if I don't make it on time. Nasa plano ko naman talagang pumunta sa birthday celebration niya. "If you need your plates done, don't worry about attending my party. My parents are throwing a party for me anyway. Maybe you could attend that one."

"Okay, Phil." I stood up and went to him. I kissed his cheek. "What do you want for your birthday?"

"I just want your presence. But if it's not possible, it's okay. Just greet me and I'll be happy." Dahil sa sinabi niya, hinalikan ko ulit siya. He moved his head making our lips touch. He held my nape to pull me closer. At dahil hirap na ako sa pagyuko, umupo nalang ako sa mga hita niya. "I love you."

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from responding to that. Hindi naman sa ayaw kong sumagot. O 'di kaya'y hindi ko alam kung mahal ko rin siya. Mahal ko siya pero gusto kong sabihin iyon sa kaarawan niya. I remembered how much love I had for this man.

Tahimik akong nakinig sa usapan nina Jenna at Isla tungkol sa contraceptives. Jenna was asking Isla if having an IUD or having injections is better than taking pills. I pretended to be studying on the other hand. I am not the type to eavesdrop on people but this topic? I am invested! And I will definitely listen!

"Nakakatakot naman kasi 'yung IUD, sis!" Jenna replied to Isla. The latter laughed and then shrugged. "Pero kung mas effective 'yon, go ako!"

"Makakalimutin ka, baka makalimutan mong mag-take ng pills. So, it's the better option."

"But isn't wearing a condom much better?" Sumingit na ako. I cannot stop myself! "I mean if you want to be protected from STIs?"

"Tama ka! But if the person you're doing it with is totally clean, the feeling is way better when there's no condom."

"How would you know if the person is clear of STI?" Mukhang gulat pa sila sa tanong ko, e sila nga 'tong kanina pa nag-uusap tungkol sa contraceptives. "I'm just curious. It's hard to open up this kind of stuff with someone you just met, you know?"

"Issa, some people will tell you that they're clean before you have sex. Pero sometimes all you have to do is to be straightforward with them, that you don't want any disease. Hookups are great, but you should always be careful. So, choose who you do it with," Jenna said.

"Isn't it awkward when you ask them?"

"It is awkward, but that's better than not asking. And don't believe in their words, ask for proof, ha! Some would lie about it!"
