Taylor hadn't ever thought she'd be able to kiss a man ever again. She hadn't thought that she could love the feeling of his hands in her hair, cupping her cheeks. She hadn't thought that she would love the taste of his lips, the feeling of them leaving golden flecks on her face.
"Is this okay?" Travis asked her, pulling away briefly.
"Yes," she was breathless, but she leaned forward, crashing her lips onto his once more. "Yes, yes yes." She kept telling him, because it was okay. And she did like it. She didn't feel triggered, there wasn't a negative emotion in her head. There was nothing about it that made her feel tied to that moment that had tried to ruin her. Because it felt nice, and it felt electric and it felt safe. She knew that she could have said stop, she could say she wasn't sure... and Travis would stop. He would stop the moment she asked him to, and she wouldn't even need to say it twice.
"Trav?" Taylor pulled away, a golden smile on her face.
"Is everything okay?" He asked, his brows knotted together in concern for her. "Are you alright?"
She looked over at him, and nodded with a wide grin.
"I'm really glad that you're falling in love with me too, because I don't think I could've just been friends with you."
He leaned forward and kissed the tip of her nose, an act that made her giggle.
"I'm not... falling, Taylor. I'm skydiving, literally plummeting down from the edge of the atmosphere with love for you." The words were so soft, so kind that she closed her eyes and soaked them in. "Like, right now, I could be a fifteen year old boy who's just had his first kiss with the prettiest, most talented girl in the school."
She felt her cheeks turn red. "Really?"
"Completely." He grinned, and she leaned in to kiss him again.
And again, and again.

Taylor was not one hundred percent sure when she started panicking. Travis had gone to have a shower - and she was leaning against the kitchen sink. She was supposed to be loading the dishwasher - she was supposed to feel giddy and excited about the fact that she'd finally kissed Travis. And she had - for a solid fifteen minutes, it had been completely fine. She'd felt fine and happy and normal. But then Travis had left to have the shower, and her thoughts had run wild. It wasn't anything that Travis did - it wasn't anything to do with him. He'd kissed the tip of her nose before he'd asked if he could have a shower. The kisses she'd shared with him - she hadn't kissed anyone and felt that way before. It was just... Travis was right. It was like she was young and carefree and silly and in love - there was something so overwhelmingly beautiful about the way it felt.
"Tay?" She heard Travis call out, the sound of his voice tracing a smile on her lips.
"Yeah?"
"Can I use your body wash?"
Taylor grinned. "Which one?"
"I don't know, it's got a fancy name that I'm not going to try and pronounce."
"Of course you can," Taylor laughed, standing outside the bathroom door. "You can use anything that's there."

Taylor sighed as she turned back to the kitchen, her anxiety flurrying away in her stomach. She wished she could just turn off her mind.
She didn't want to feel this way. She didn't want to feel stressed and anxious and overwhelmed. She was supposed to be feeling light and happy and giddy with love. But instead, she was gritting her teeth, unable to stop thinking.
She loved Travis, she really did - but what did that mean? Where did they go from here? Was she going to have to have sex with him tonight? Because she didn't know if she'd be ready for that.
"A penny for your thoughts?" Travis' voice asked from behind her. "Are you okay, Tay?"
She nodded, even though she wasn't sure if she was or not.
"I really am okay," she sighed. "I just... I'm sort of freaking out because like... what happens now? Do you want me to have sex with you? Do you want to... I don't know... I... I don't think that things can progress really fast but if that's what-"
Travis took a couple of steps closer to her, his arms reaching out and touching her hands.
"It can go as slow as you need." He promised her gently. "I'm not in any rush. I just like being in your presence. Just because we kissed doesn't mean it's going to jump ahead in leaps and bounds. It'll travel as fast or as slow as you need it to."
"That's pretty... lame for you though."
Travis chuckled, shaking his head. "There is absolutely nothing about this that is lame. Tay - I'm the happiest I've ever been. I'm on top of the world right now." He leaned in and kissed her cheek delicately and she felt her heart blush. "You're just the greatest thing that ever happened to me." He whispered. "And there is nothing about us, about you, that I would change. Not a single thing."
