Despite their decision to stand strong, the pressures from Meera's family grew more intense. Her parents, desperate to steer her away from Arjun, began to take more drastic measures. They believed that separating Meera and Arjun was the only way to ensure their daughter's future and happiness.
One morning, Meera's father called her into the living room. The seriousness in his voice set off alarm bells in her mind. As she entered the room, she saw her parents and her aunt, all with stern expressions.
"Meera, sit down," her father said, gesturing to the sofa. She sat, anxiety tightening in her chest.
"We've been patient, and we've tried to understand your feelings for Arjun," her mother began. "But this relationship is not right for you. It's causing too much strain on our family and your future prospects."
Meera's heart sank. "Amma, Appa, I've told you how much I love Arjun. We're committed to each other, and we're planning to get engaged. Please, try to understand."
Her father's expression hardened. "This is exactly what we're worried about. You're making decisions that will affect your entire life based on a fleeting emotion. We can't allow this to continue."
Before Meera could respond, her aunt spoke up. "Meera, we've arranged for you to go to your uncle's house in Coimbatore for a while. It will give you some time to think and gain perspective away from Arjun's influence."
Meera's eyes widened in shock. "You can't be serious! You can't just send me away to keep me from Arjun. This is my life, and I should be able to choose who I want to be with."
Her father stood, his face set with determination. "We're doing this for your own good, Meera. You'll leave tomorrow. It's already been arranged."
The reality of her situation hit Meera like a ton of bricks. Her parents were determined to separate her from Arjun, and she felt powerless to stop them. She rushed to her room, tears streaming down her face, and called Arjun.
"Arjun, they're sending me away," she said, her voice breaking. "They want to separate us."
Arjun's voice was filled with urgency. "Meera, don't worry. We'll find a way. Meet me at our spot tonight. We need to talk and figure out what to do."
That night, Meera sneaked out of her house and met Arjun at their favorite spot on Marina Beach. The waves crashed against the shore, a stark contrast to the turmoil in their hearts.
"We have to do something, Arjun," Meera said, desperation in her voice. "I can't let them tear us apart."
Arjun held her close, his mind racing. "We could elope, Meera. It might be the only way to be together right now. We'll face whatever comes afterward together."
Meera looked into his eyes, searching for strength. "Are you sure, Arjun? It's a big step, and it will cause a lot of pain for our families."
Arjun nodded, his expression resolute. "I'm sure, Meera. Our love is worth fighting for, no matter the cost. We'll find a way to make things right later, but for now, we need to be together."
With heavy hearts but unwavering determination, they made their plans. They would leave the next day, seeking refuge in a neighboring city where they could start anew. It was a risky decision, but they knew it was the only way to protect their love.
As they parted that night, Meera felt a mix of fear and hope. She was about to embark on a journey that would test the strength of their love and their resolve. But with Arjun by her side, she felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Together, they would fight for their love, no matter what it took.
