The following days were filled with a mix of tension and hope for Meera. While her initial conversation with her parents had been promising, the reality of her situation soon set in. Her parents, after thinking things over, had growing reservations about her relationship with Arjun. They worried about societal expectations, family reputation, and the future stability of their daughter's life.

One evening, as Meera sat in her room, her parents called her into the living room. The somber expressions on their faces immediately set her on edge. She sat down, her heart pounding with anticipation.

"Meera, we've been thinking a lot about this," her father began, his voice heavy. "And while we appreciate Arjun's sincerity, we have serious concerns about this relationship."

Meera's heart sank. "But, Appa, Arjun loves me. He respects me and supports my dreams. Isn't that what you want for me?"

Her mother sighed, her eyes filled with concern. "Meera, love alone isn't enough. We're worried about the practical aspects of your future. Arjun's background, his family's status... these things matter in our society. We want you to have a stable and secure life."

Tears welled up in Meera's eyes as she listened to her parents' fears. "I understand your concerns, Amma, Appa. But Arjun is hardworking and dedicated. We can build a future together, based on mutual respect and love. Isn't that what truly matters?"

Her father shook his head, his expression resolute. "Meera, we're not saying Arjun is a bad person. But we have to think about your long-term happiness and security. We've already spoken to Rohit's family, and they're very eager for the match. Rohit can provide you with the kind of life we've always dreamed for you."

Meera's heart broke at her father's words. She felt torn between her love for Arjun and her duty to her family. "Appa, I can't marry someone I don't love. My heart belongs to Arjun, and I believe we can overcome any challenges together."

Her mother reached out, her voice gentle but firm. "Meera, we've always supported your dreams and your choices. But this is different. We need you to trust us on this. We're only thinking about your best interests."

The room fell silent as Meera struggled to find the right words. She felt a deep sense of betrayal, but also understood her parents' fears. Finally, she spoke, her voice trembling. "I love you both, and I respect your wishes. But I can't give up on Arjun. I need to follow my heart, even if it means facing difficult times ahead."

Her parents exchanged worried glances, their faces etched with sorrow. "We can't support this decision, Meera," her father said quietly. "If you choose Arjun, you're choosing a life filled with uncertainties and challenges. We can't stand by and watch you make a mistake."

Meera's tears flowed freely now, the weight of her parents' disapproval crushing her. "I understand, Appa. But I have to be true to myself. I hope you can find it in your hearts to accept my decision someday."

She stood up, her heart heavy with the knowledge that her family was against her choice. As she walked back to her room, she felt a mix of determination and despair. She knew she couldn't give up on Arjun, but the thought of losing her family's support was almost unbearable.

Later that night, Meera called Arjun, her voice choked with emotion as she recounted the conversation with her parents. Arjun listened patiently, his own heart aching for her.

"Meera, I'm so sorry you have to go through this," Arjun said softly. "I wish there was something I could do to make it easier."

"You're already doing so much, Arjun," Meera replied, her voice trembling. "Just knowing you're by my side gives me the strength to face this. We'll find a way to make it work, no matter what."

Arjun's voice was filled with determination. "We will, Meera. We'll face this together. Your parents love you, and I believe that in time, they'll come to see how much we mean to each other."

As they ended the call, Meera felt a renewed sense of resolve. The path ahead was uncertain and fraught with challenges, but with Arjun by her side, she felt ready to face whatever came their way. Their love was strong, and they were determined to fight for it, no matter the obstacles.
