Infinite Maze
“Argh!” I groaned when I tripped, gasping and panting, tired from running nonstop. Even so, I swiftly got up and ran again only when I was able to have a glimpse of the hospital.
“I’m very sorry for your loss, Ma’am.”
“Time of death 6:15 AM.”
“It’s not over yet. Again, clear!”
Out of all the patients, a woman sitting on the floor, leaning at the wall, and being treated by a young girl medic. I was able to take a glance of the cut before it was fully covered up.
Confusion invaded my mind upon seeing a black red surrounding the long cut on her neck, signifying that the wound was due to a heated weapon.
This is my first time I’ve encountered such cut. Under curiosity, I approached them.
The young medic and the woman saluted at me. “Miss Athena.” I hastily dismissed the honorifics for I do not deserve it.
Wait. But why do I feel cold sensation coming from the wound? It even reached my distance.
I quickly called my personal team.
There is a wheelchair near the information desk and so I ran my way to it.
What? Her skin looks way more pale now.
My team is taking so long to arrive.
Inutusan ko iyong batang medic na tawagin ang mga ka-team ko. If my memory serves me right, her name’s Cy. The youngest medic at the age of 12.
I assisted the woman to sit on the wheelchair. Something is not right. Although my hand felt so cold from touching her, I didn’t let go.
Napabitaw na lang ako nang hindi na kayanin ang lamig.
Her skin has become more pale.
I flinched when a constant ring of bell echoed. The team arrived at last. “Let’s bring her to the observatory room right now.”
The sound of the bell become louder and louder.
Before we could do anything, the woman turned into an ice statue in an instant.
The loud ringing of the bell woke me up.
I gasped, feeling and hearing my loud thud heartbeat. My head is throbbing from the pain. Why is that? That was four years ago.
I can still vividly remember how that woman rapidly melted along with the ice. Reflexes acted up as soon as I started to catch breaths, I took my med from the drawer and swallowed it without a drink.
Maya maya pa ay natigil na ang tunog ng kampanilya.
That night, I lost the other pair of my butterfly. It was two days ago and after that, we barely talked.
The rest of the days were duties. Training. Sparring. Rest. Training. Sparring. Rest. That was like more like it.
After taking a quick bath, I changed into combat attire with winter resistance: pants, shirt, jacket, boots, and so so.
We need to enhance the speed when it comes to changing due to the absence of our technology system, hence Techno Changers does not function as of now.
It is almost call time, so even though I hadn’t fully done my hair yet, I rushed out of my camp.
A few seconds after I stepped out, I felt a presence. Before I could even look around, Mikael had already attacked me.
He managed to graze my right arm. Just as I did to his left shoulder. That stings even though I was able to dodge.
