Seungmin was pacing back and forth in her office, her mind racing with thoughts and worries. The man who had come yesterday, with his rough demeanor and menacing gaze, had left her with a sense of unease. His words, "The boss wants Minho back in the field," echoed in her mind, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that Minho was involved in something dangerous, something that could put him and others at risk.

She wanted to ask Minho about this, to confirm her suspicions, but that stubborn bastard hadn't come home yet.

Seungmin sighed through frustration and brushed her hands through her hair, feeling the tension build up inside her.

She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she hadn't noticed Lia's presence in the room. "Hey, what's wrong?" Lia asked, her voice breaking through Seungmin's reverie.

Seungmin startled and flinched, her heart racing. "Oh, nothing," she said quickly, trying to brush off her concerns. "I was just waiting for Oh Soo Hyun."

Lia's eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze piercing. "Hmm, are you free? Should we grab something from the cafeteria?" she asked, her tone light and casual.

Seungmin hesitated for a moment, her mind still racing with thoughts of Minho and the mysterious man. But then she nodded, grateful for the distraction. "Yes, I still have 20 minutes until Soo Hyun comes," she said, and both women left the office and headed towards the cafeteria.

Bang Chan and Seo Changbin sat across from each other at the cafe, the tension between them palpable. Bang Chan sipped his coffee, his eyes fixed on Changbin with a hint of wariness. "Why do you want to meet me?" he asked, his tone neutral.

Changbin's expression was calm, but his voice was firm. "What's your relation with Seungmin?" he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Bang Chan set his coffee down, his movements deliberate. "I told you, she's my patient," he said, his tone matter-of-fact.

Changbin's gaze turned skeptical. "Don't take me for a fool, hyung," he said, his voice low and even. "The reaction you gave me that time when I told you that Minho married Seungmin... and what happened that day in the parking lot... she's certainly more than just a patient to you."

Bang Chan's eyes flashed with hurt, and he looked away, his jaw clenched. "Okay, fine," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, she is more than a patient to me... but for her, I am only a friend and a doctor."

The pain in his eyes was visible, and the Changbin's expression softened slightly. He leaned back in his chair, his arms still crossed, but his gaze was less intense. "I see," he said, his voice gentle.

Bang Chan's eyes met Changbin's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with unspoken emotions. Then Bang Chan looked away, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I love her, Changbin," he said, his voice cracking. "But she never saw me that way. And now... now she's gone."

They sat there for some time in silence, the only sound being the quiet hum of the coffee shop in the background.

But then, something in Changbin shifted. His eyes narrowed slightly, and his jaw clenched. It was a subtle change, but Bang Chan caught it.

"So, you know about that, don't you?" he asked, his tone tinged with disappointment. "You know that Areum, the girl Minho loves, the girl who died, was the sister of Hwang Hyunjin, Seungmin's dead boyfriend."

Bang Chan's expression remained neutral, but his eyes flickered slightly. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said, his voice even, but his words laced with a hint of defensiveness.
