Third person pov..

It had been twenty four hours since Rudra had been admitted to the hospital. He had the surgery and was in the ICU for observation. Shridha's father didn't let her stay in the hospital and unwillingly she came back home with tears filling her eyes and a heavy heart. She has lost the count of times she had called Shiv to inquire about Rudra's health.

After coming out of the bathroom, she took the dupatta kept on the bed of her room and headed downstairs.

" Where are you going, Shridha?" Her mother asked from the kitchen when she saw her in a peach anarkali suit which she often wears when going out.

" Maa, I am going to the hospital." She answered with a fear in her eyes. She knew that her father must already have her mother's voice and that made her grip her suit .

" Shridha, come to my study. I need to talk to you. Vasu, you too." She heard her father's voice to find him standing at the door of his study and she felt as if air got squeezed out of her lungs. She gulped down as she knew that her father won't let her meet Rudransh after the previous night banter . She knows that she can fight against the whole world but her father. She knew that it was one of her principles to never disobey your parents.

Will she stick to her principles?

She walked towards the study with a heavy heart while looking at her mother. At this moment if she  missed someone then it must be Vidhi. Vidhi is unlike Shridha, outspoken and fearless. Shridha holds on to so many things. She feels that keeping her perspective or choosing her happiness will shatter the happiness of her closed ones hence she always calculates her steps. She likes her professional life more because that's the place where she feels powerful and confident. She knows that every word that comes out of her mouth holds reliability which attracts the attention but in personal life, she got nothing.

" Sit here." Her father ordered and she looked at her wrist watch slowly to find that she was already running out of time. It was three in the afternoon and the family were allowed till four to meet the patient. She doesn't even know how her fiance is doing?

" Looking at your watch won't help you, Shridha. Since when did you become so disobedient?" Her father asked sitting behind his desk and her mother patted on her shoulder which made Shridha to move forward towards the chair. They both grabbed their respective chairs and once her father saw them sitting comfortably he chose to drop the bomb.

" Shridha, you have always been my favorite daughter. I and your mother always wish the best for you and we are sorry that we didn't choose the best groom for you so now for your betterment we decided to call off the wedding." He said looking at Shridha who was looking in her lap but as she heard her father, her gaze met her father's and she felt herself shivering.

One thing she knew was that this is not time to be weak or cry. She cannot let her tears out this time.

" For my betterment, papa?" She asked and her father nodded.

" We cannot see our daughter's life being at stake daily. You are our precious child and being with the Kapoor family can bring you misfortune. " He said and Shridha crumbled her dress in her fist.

" And you got to realize this now?"

" Earlier we were unaware of the fact that Rudransh is a gangster."

" Gangster? what are you saying?" She asked standing up this time. She had been calm but now she cannot.

" Shridha, understand what your father is saying. He is calling off the wedding for your sake. It's not safe to marry into that family after looking at Rudransh's condition. Her had been in broad daylight, can you imagine how dreadful it will be?" Her mother spoke for the first time after entering the study and she looked at her mother and then at her father. Her eyes filled with tears as her vision blurred.
