Ψ . . . KUSUO, CAN YOU USE YOUR powers to find out where Warp went?"

Saiki flipped another page of his magazine. Repeat that sentence again and think about how stupid that is.

Kuniharu put his hands together. "But Warp has been gone for so long, and your mother and I are getting worried about him! I miss seeing his cute little face."

You know it doesn't really care about you.

"We've had it for so long that I'm sure its AI is at least a little fond of me. Please, Kusuo? Just so we know Warp didn't fall into a ditch somewhere, the poor thing."

Saiki heaved a sigh and crossed his eyes. It took him a second to figure out what he was looking at, and when he did, dread cooled his veins.

I have to go.

Kuniharu jumped. "Huh? What's wrong? What's wrong with Warp?"

Nothing is wrong with that stupid thing. Tell Mom I won't be back for a while. I have to talk to Kusuke.

Ignoring his father's blustering, Saiki teleported away. He had never been able to teleport to Kusuke's location directly, but since Warp was in the same place, he could just use that.

Kusuke must have repaired this facility from the last time Saiki had wrecked it, fighting with Toritsuka's spirit. He despised the fact that it was up again and that Kusuke was using it. No doubt his brother was preparing something to try and upstage him.

Saiki turned himself invisible, skirting along hallways and doing his best to avoid any sensors until he reached the main control room. Although a retina scan, fingerprint scan, and keypad deterred his entry, Saiki had no problem frying everything with a jolt of electricity and letting himself inside.

To his credit, Kusuke wasn't at all surprised to see Saiki. He was surrounded by a wall of screens and a large control board, sickly blue light bathing his face. As his clairvoyance had informed him, Warp was nestled into a corner, its eyes glowing. Its tail looked slightly crooked for some reason.

"Hey, Kusuo," Kusuke called over his shoulder. "You missed most of the main fight, but things are just wrapping up now."

Saiki squinted into the gloom. I don't even want to know what you're doing. Mom and Dad want Warp back.

"You can have it. I was just tuning it up."

Saiki went over to the corner and scooped up the cyborg cat, averting his eyes from whatever it was Kusuke was doing. He was already halfway out the door when a familiar voice gave him pause.

"You'll have to try harder than that to kill me!"

Saiki couldn't help it. He turned to look. Gojo's face stared back at him from a dozen different screens, their expression defiant and the Six Eyes blazing with manic energy.

Saiki's heart seized. What are you doing?

Kusuke grinned. "Gojo kindly volunteered to test out your new limiters. I'm just gathering some data from them."
